Paxton has a rounded face but his cheeks aren't nearly that puffy.

Agreed Dave...and I was thinking of this photo from one of your other posts that shows how scrawny Paxton was when he did Aliens...he needs a little more 'chisel' in the cheeks. We might have to get Darren to sand it down for us! :D

Very good sculpt, clean... but it seems a bit blank. No expression, no character. Paxton was so animated in ALIENS.

I'm glad I went with Les' Chronos resculpt. Although it was not designed to be a sculpted Hudson, I think it captures the "character" of Hudson much better. And as a figure, it will separate Hudson on the shelf with attitude that Lonnie's sculpt just doesn't have.

We have a few different expressions for Hudson now. Static and worried. I'd like to see another with him grinning like he's joking around... "Express elevator to hell" Hudson.

It's really hard to tell with just the resin sculpt. I think with a good paint job it will look really good. I was waiting for this to come out, so now I can order Lonnie's Hicks, Hudson and Apone heads all at the same time.

Couldn't have said it any better myself Greg. I kind of wish Lonnie's sculpt had that 'attitude' or 'goofiness' too. That's totally what's missing..the "You want some of this?!"...or the "Hudson Sir, he's Hicks."

Couldn't have said it better WG!

I have a scared "goofed", "You want some of this?" FML Hudson and I dig it. When I get his outfit and gear back from Josh, I'll snap a few pics but he is so expressive for some poses I can't see another static marine. As you said, it will separate him on the shelf...

I think Lonnie really missed his opportunity of chance with this one. If he had come out with this sculpt when the figure was released I think most of you guys would have jumped on it. The delay was to our advantage since we went off looking for alternatives and found that Chronos sculpt that Ironman had and it really turned out wonderful thanks to Les.

I'll probably get one anyway... just to see which one I like better when it's painted. Still thinking Les' head though. Just more character, as previously stated....

Oh, and speaking of the stuff I am doing for Paul....:rock

:lol Yes it is!!

Thanks Paul... I wanted to give you something to be excited about, and this was the biggest thing I had. Can't wait to finish the rest of it and get this stuff out to you, bro. :duff

You are amazing Josh, even painted that tiny grrr on the handle... :lol

Doesn't get any better than that. :D A toast to you Sir!

ps We may need to paint Hicks' knife sheath too ( i think it's black, not positive) but I guess you already knew that.. whatever you do is cool with me.

Thanks again Paul!! That tiny Grrrrr was the best. I didn't even know it existed until the pics popped up on here and as soon as I saw it... knew it had to be brought to life... no matter how damn hard it was! :lol

Those are some great paint jobs. What did you use for the lettering? A fine tip brush, or something else?

One thing that I've been noticing on all the Marines is the Sardine Can opener on the crotch. In the film, I believe Hudson was the only one who had this. Also, Apone's armor has the hasp like Hicks', but without the lock. In the movie he didn't have this. Removing these is not that big a deal, but it does leave some small holes that need to be filled and painted over. I'm working on converting a set of Apone armor over to Frost srmor right now and that is what I'm doing. Not sure how I'm gonna go about the repaint, though because I'm not real good at painting and I don't want to repaint the entire camo pattern. I'll probably do some wear and tear on that area to try and cover it up.

I believe you're absolutely right about Hudson being the only one with the sardine key on his groin armour. None of the pictures I've seen of the other marines' armour has it and so I removed all of them a while ago, as well as Apone's hasp. They just pulled right out and apparently weren't even glued in. As you said, the holes will have to be filled and painted over, but that's not a major hassle. I'll be doing that when I get to the weathering stage for everyone's armour. I guess some people may opt to leave these as they are, but like you, I'm trying to get my set as close to film-accurate as possible. I'm really looking forward to seeing pics of your finished marines.
