Very nice Les! Some great photos there I've never seen before!

Great review!
I think HotToys' Movie Masterpiece series is the best line of 1/6 toys this year. Just the range of figures, body types, licenses and the overall quality is amazing.

So how does this work?
You need someone in Japan to get the figure?

If you know the right people that can help you out. I know this one guy that sells HT products pretty exclusively. I am waiting to hear back from him about the Grid.

Hi all,

just ordered the Queen Alien head bust 1/4 by Sideshow. With the discount they're having right now, i just couldn't resist any longer :D

It's so beautiful.

Well, gotta head out, glad to have finally found my way here.

Don't forget to be on the lookout for Lonnie's replacement heads for Hudson, Drake and possibly Ripley (although I'm OK with the Ripley sculpt, as long as it's painted well...)...We gotta do up another group order for those heads in the new year!

You're ON INDY!

I'll prolly just do Hudson though, I have no problem with Drake and Ripley will get a repaint, I already have her bomber jacket waiting for her.

I just got the HT Alien and I think I'm in love. I'm not a huge Alien fan, it easily comes behind many of the other big franchises for me, but this is easily the figure of the year.

Forget the old McF 12" and even the Kenner (?) one from when the movie came out - this is the definitive Alien figure. Just seeing the tongue come out and the jaws stretch open is amazing. It doesn't have any dripping goo, but that's the only thing that's missing. The articulation and design of this thing is truly superior to anything we've seen before.

I worry a bit about all the rubber and what will happen to it over time, but for now it's easily the best solution to get maximum articulation and still have seamless look.

I got him the same day as Ed-209 and Ed is great as well, but the Alien if far more interesting to me. I'm off to get the brown one now and I'll have to see about the grid too.

That's good to hear Dave, even though it's not the "definitive" one until we have the Giger Alien or Cameron's Aliens warrior.

Wow! You sold me. I gotta get this guy now. I was holding off for an "Aliens" version, but I just can't wait anymore after your stellar review.

Thanks for the push.

So you're finally giving in after I kept pushing this on you, then I decided to hold off for the next announcement (which is sure to come). :lol

I agree completely, especially about this being the figure of the year, and in a year like this, that's saying a LOT. It seems I've had at least three or four 12" figures this year where I said "well, no one's going to top THIS" and yet it keeps happening(Hot Toys Scar Predator, Subject 5, X3 Wolverine, Obi Wan). The Alien will likely win simply because the year's end is coming up so soon - I can't imagine what's in store for next year.

This figure turned out far better than I imagined it could. Hot Toys has really shown this year that they have what it takes, of the six figures from them I've bought there is not one that I am less than 100% satisfied with.

I was just playing with him (YEA, I PLAY with my Toys! Wanna make something out of it?) and thought "hmm, the fingers bother me, they don't look quite right." So I experimented and discovered the fingers are all bendy, even the thumbs! He looks so much more menacing with the fingers curled in, ready to strike.

Sure, I'd love for them to make a Giger version - but without looking at reference photos it's pretty hard for this casual fan to know the difference. This guy rocks!
