Chase Smith’s colors are far more accurate (and far superior) than CoolProps. It’s based on the head that’s display at the Giger Museum, not the movie. What you see in the movie is not the original Giger Head. The whole point of this head is supposed to mimic Giger’s original.
The background photos on Chase’s pictures are the original Giger’s Head.

Much, much better. I’m sorry, the CoolProps missed the boat altogether. Chase friggin nailed it. Having said that...glad members here are painting theirs or are just happy with the all black, cool...
Don't confuse over exposure as being the paint job. This is what that head looks like close up. Black. The "white" areas are because its falling apart.
I did find this pic that shows a lighter paint but the head still looks black to me. It sure as heck isn't white like the repaint
All Giger did was spray black ink over the light brown latex. Cranium looks to be a lighter base coat with the black airbrushed spirals and veining. Chase over-noodled his.
Looks great!
Chase does amazing work. I have his Dog Alien bust and he repainted my Coolprops Alien Warrior head just before he did your Big Chap, but sadly I’ve not seen it yet and may not see it ever because USPS have lost it. I paid USPS $420 for Global Express shipping to UK and all they had to do was get it to Fedex to export but they managed to Fuсk that up!
It’s been over 3 weeks now on what should have been 3 days.
Really, really disappointed in USPS and their can’t be bothered to do anything attitude. Just put it on a couple of watch list and wait until it’s scanned again.
How can you misplace a huge box?
