I like how you can't actually kill the Xeno :lol. It restored so much dignity to it as a horror monster, rather than just a sci-fi alien.

True.... its much more terrifying this way. You can kill the Facehuggers.... they are quick little buggers but I managed to nail one with my revolver.

We seriously need to have a thread for those who finished it! I have to let it all out!

Oh, and Crystal Dynamics, THIS is how you make a survival game... unlike Tomb Raider's one moment you're afraid, the next you're the bloody T-800.

I never took Tomb Raider to be a survival game. Its supposed to be a tense action/adventure game, but never really survival.

Of course, Lara goes from scared girl to Death, destroyer of worlds so quickly, lol.

But that is how they advertized it. The slogan was "A Survivor Is Born".

actually once I got the flamethrower I found the alien easy to deal with...................until I ran out of fuel anyway

And it runs out pretty quick! Gotta use it strategically. I actually felt it added another element of tension and strategy, and felt the most nervious when I had "16 Fuel".

craft as many pipe bombs and molotovs. keeps the xeno away too.

Sons of *******! (actual game quote) You have to shoot them, and mommy finds out where you are...

when they're close enough you can squash them with the tool you have (R2 on ps4)
that way you spare fuel or bullets

(except when you're in the hive, somehow that ended up me being dead. not by the facehugger though. unless it was some kind of bug...)

I am terrified playing this game. Those droids are so creepy in the distance with just their eyes. I actually fell for the classic old walking under the drool and looking up to an instant headbite. I'll respect the characters in the films more next time I watch them.

I would say a month or two is an acceptable time to wait before letting spoilers out.

This game is stressful! :lol I know it's not real, but I find myself instinctively slowing my breathing and lightly tapping on my keyboard keys whenever I'm walking around and hear the Alien. The level of immersion in this is absolutely unlike anything I've ever played.

Totally agree.....
imagine if we had decent VR too..... it would be crazy real.
Gimme 4K VR headset with 7.1 audio and I will crap myself every time I play this :rotfl

Yup! :lecture :lecture :lecture

Agreed on the vr. Im using ok vr and its so intense, ive decided to take a break from it for a while. Once the real cat and mouse with the Alien starts, the game is crazy stressful. VR takes a scary game and adds a whole new level to it. Its the most ive ever sweated while playing a video game.

My personal test for a game really stressing me out is when I'll catch myself, and realize I'm lightheaded because I haven't taken a breath in like a minute.

That happens like every five minutes in this game. :lol

Am I the only one finding this tedious and genuinely not enjoying it?
Yeah it's creepy but it's also boring sneaking around hiding under desks to avoid the alien and it's insta-kills.
HATING the checkpoint system too. (or lack of it)
