Anyone know what determines the weapons and items you start with in the DLC? I watch some YouTube videos and players have already got the flamethrower and the hacking device, meanwhile I start with a revolver and two bullets!

No idea. Is it the first mission/challenge? I do start with the useless revolver myself.

I wouldn't say its useless against the Alien. Well almost useless, but fire a shot, run to another area or into a vent and the alien will head for the noise. Makeshift noisemaker, but more dangerous and hard to use :rotfl

I'm planning on getting this game, but since everybody recommends playing it with a good set of headphones, I was wondering what you guys are using? Any good 7.1 headphones for PS4 out there?

for value and quality I personally reccomend(and use) these: Corsair 1500v2
Amazon.com: Corsair Vengeance 1500 USB Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset (1500 v2): Computers & Accessories

at $50 its unbeatable.

Now I use these with the PC, which is what I think they are made for, but my brother got them to work with his PS3 so I assume they also work with the PS4. As for PS4 specific headphones I'm not sure

Yeah the Corporate Lockdown and Trauma DLCs; maybe if you opt to "play all missions" your gear carries over to the next level? But I also saw a video of a guy starting the first mission of Trauma with the flamethrower and hacking tool in-hand, while I started off with a revolver and no hacking tool. Needless to say I can't get very far without them!

I'm using a Generation 2 Astro A50 (PS4 color scheme). It's pricy. But, if money isn't a problem, or if you happen to catch one on sale, I'd highly recommend it, as the audio quality and surround sound are stupendous.

Amazon.com: ASTRO Gaming A50 PS4 - Black: playstation 4: Video Games

But, you can also go with the Sony Gold as a more cost effective solution (it's around $99). One of my friends on SSF has the Gold, and he has told me that it works very well.

Best Buy: Sony Gold Wireless Headset

Looks good. But, while it works on the PC, I highly doubt that you'd be able to get virtual surround sound on the consoles with just a USB connection. If you want surround-sound on a third-party headset, you'd need an optical in/out connector between the PS4 and a mixamp, to make use of the console's sound processor. That headset will most likely default to stereo sound when connected to the PS4.

yep! :lecture

It's such a shame there isn't a lot of versatility with surround headsets for the consoles :lol. It's often the case, that most gamers are stuck with with either Turtle Beach or Tritton. The PC has significantly more sound options, by comparison. Logitech, Corsair, Sentey, Kingston, Razer, Creative Labs, Sennheiser... the list goes on.

Yeah I was saying that to myself while I was looking on Amazon earlier....

You have a lot more options with sound formats on PC too.

Hey Siennheiser are great :lecture

The Sennheiser stuff looks great. I would have gotten a RS 170, because I love wireless audio. But, I read that the transmitter broadcasts at 2.4 GHz, which is around the same frequency as most wireless routers (including my Netgear router). So, interference would have been an issue. They've got a lot of wired headphones, too. But, I hate wires :lol.

And by the way, I just finished Isolation this morning. It's such an amazing game, and one HECK of a memorable thrill ride that I won't ever forget. I'd give it a 9/10... this game's my personal GOTY.

Also, I agree with Brainiac, that the ending was a bit too anti-climactic. But, it certainly doesn't spoil the game in any sense.

And it left things open ended, really.

No, we don't. You're taking the word of a top-level Weyland Yutani executive at face value. Think about it...

I guess it's possible, but I'm not sure what's the reason to cover it up. Especially when Ripley woke up 57 years into future - when everyone she knew was already dead :huh. If anything, I believe that if Amanda was killed by a Xeno, it would have served as a great motivator for Ripley to visit LV-426 on a quest for revenge or something (without the need for much convincing).

Maybe, but plotwise, WY really didn't care about Ripley or her daughter. They woke her up and immediately held her accountable for the FINANCIAL loss caused by the destruction of the Nostromo. Ellen accepted, if memory serves, because it was something she could do to "settle" with the company.

I'm fully confident that Creative Assembly share that point of view, that Amanda's story really isn't bound by the mention of her in the movie's deleted scene.

Looks like the game has some new difficulty setting. Sounds like they’re part of a title update
