Wow! The possibillity of the alien queen actually becoming a reality? I'm in awe. It'll be so awesome to have it facing off against my Ripley in the power loader. :D

Figures.com: Are there any plans at this time to make a 1:6 scale Alien Queen figure?

Hot Toys: Originally not, but after receiving huge numbers of inquiries and demands from fans and with the success of 1:6th Power Loader release, we put the 1:6 (Alien Queen) project on the table seriously again...

Also the promise of not only the upcoming Predator 1 creature, but the human characters too? Ohhhh yeahhhh! :D

Figures.com: Do you plan to eventually make Predator 1 figures and, if so, when can fans expect to see them?

Hot Toys: Fans won't be disappointed this time; Predator 1 figures will be coming very soon in 2008...and not only the Predator, but also the human characters (as well)...

It looks like 2008 will be another HUGE year for me to invest in and collect more great Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series 1/6 scale figures! Bring 'em on!

Booya-ka!

I like how the interviewer asks this question, which I've also been asking on this board!

AXP: And now touching on the hybrid, it exhibits the Predator dreadlocks and mandibles, but looking back at the other Alien films the creature has never really taken on such distinct characteristics from its host; what is the rationale behind these marked features?

Well, despite my reservations about plot/story, everything visual I see looks very nicely done, so where even the visuals were just ok in AVP and the story was so-so, at least what you see on screen should be sweet even if the story in which it's thrown out at you is subpar.

Greg: "The dreadlocks are controversial. When we saw them in the original design artwork, though, and they were kind of made out of skeletal bone segments, very similar to an Aliens tail, there was just such a cool factor there, we were like, you know what, logic’s really important, but being cool is too, and so we kind of just went for it [on] that one."

LAME!
They know damn well it shouldn't have dreads.

And I agree Maulfan.
I just want to see this move in order to see the Aliens and Preds in action. Not much else.

I also love the fact that AVP:R has spawned more figures from Hot Toys! :D

I'm with you, the figures alone are worth it. It's statements like the one you posted that piss me off at these guys with the creature designs and films in general, they care more about what's cool and neat than integrity of pre-existing storylines and character traits. Now, bottom line, it's sci-fi, and you could make up some bs about the unique biology of the Predators mixes with the xenomorphs in a way that causes hybrids instead of just typical xenomorphs, yadi yadi yada, and I can buy that to a degree because who cares really in the end, I'm only bothered by the mentality that gets there, not the end result persay.
