The only issue I had with AVP was everything . . . and Im not expecting much from the sequel either. The trailer seems to suggest more overblown action sequences, sloppy CGI and a bunch of shallow, unsympathetic and underdeveloped "pretty" characters . . no wait . . that was Transfromers

While I am not an Anderson hater like most of the posters here, I too had problems with AVP. Mainly, as mentioned by others, continuity errors (the movement of the pyramid and the super accelerated face hugger-birth-full size alien cycle being the worst offenses)

I had the same problems with the life cycle in AVP, until I started to really think about the first Alien film. How long did the Alien have from 1 foot tall chestburster to full size 7 & 1/5 foot tall Alien; one, two, or three days?
Even if you give the thing a month, no way in hell would any real creature have the same super fast growth rate. I think it's impossible even if you genetically engineered the Alien.

So yes it's a problem when full grown Aliens appear within hours of the first chestburster in AVP, but the first movie is also ridiculous.

P.S. Sorry, every time people call the Predator Wolf, I can't help but imagine if they had gotten Harvey Keitel to play the part

As I mentioned before, the directors mentioned that they named him 'Wolf' after Keitel's character in Pulp Fiction. I think it was on AVP Galaxy's forums.

The actors in AVP2 look ****e also. See the dude grabbing the keys in the store showdown. Nice facial expressions there..

... and hell yeah to the heads being blown off. if you watch it in slow-mo, the one guys face gets blown half way off and the other gets fully blown off.

That's my problem with this movie. We've likely seen all of the best kills and most of the best shots.

That double-decapitation should never have been shown in any trailer. Seriously, just think how riotous that would have been had you seen it for the first time in the context of the movie itself in a theater. Damn overzealous marketing pinheads these days. :emperor

Let's be honest here, we forced them to put those gruesome kills in the trailer. What have the producers heard since the first movie? All the complaining about the film being watered down to a PG-13 (not that the complaints aren't valid, just making a point). So, the marketing department has to show the public this film is different. Sure, they could just slap an R on the poster, but that wasn't enough. They needed scenes to show up us that "damn, they are bring back the blood and guts". Besides, if there really is a town of people, I am sure there will be plenty more "cattle mutilations".

P.S. I refused to watch the trailer so far. So, other than your description, I will experience it fresh.
