Funny, seems like I've actually seen just as much interest in the figures, customs, and film from UK members as U.S. members for Aliens. Some of the most hardcore Aliens customizers on the board are based out of the UK, Belgium, and Russia.

I would agree

Not at all! Alien has a rabid fan base because of Alien, not Aliens. I always thought Alien was a much better movie than the sequel.
Honestly I think it's a US thing. It's like FPS games are basically the only games that sell well in the US anymore and Aliens with it's marine shoot first ask questions later, guns galore.... resonates more in the US than the rest of the world.

Not saying Aliens sucks by any stretch of the imagination but for me Alien will always be the better movie.

So, yeah, looks like I am in a very, very, small minority but I have had this game since launch and am thoroughly enjoying it. Haven't finished the campaign yet, pretty close to the end though from what I can gather and I dig it so far. I have also enjoyed all of the multiplayer modes. Maybe I am just easy to please, but I honestly don't get the massive amounts of hate for this game.

Then I guess the logical thing to do would be to close the thread.

no because real news of the game MAY come, as in what the response or fixing of Gearbox is, or if something else happens.

Just because a thread doesn't have any new info doesn't mean it gets closed. The Walking Dead was inactive for a couple of months between each season,

doesn't mean it should get closed

When you look at what Alien and Predator have become, it's hard to take them seriously anymore. Technically, by pushing and praying for newer, [hopefully] better movies to come out, we're just demoting them to the level of those crappy slasher flicks with dozens of sequels. Unless the planets are in perfect alignment and an idea so impossibly flawless is conceived by the greatest cast and crew imaginable... we should probably stop. Let these films die with dignity.

Somebody should print and stick it on the forehead of every single producer at 20CF.

I don't like the AVP franchise too much, but it was the most Predator-esk and felt somewhat like the 87' film.

Yeah, exactly.
Out of all the Predator and Alien flicks I'd put it 4th behind the two originals and Aliens. I think it's as worthy a sequel to Predator as Aliens was to Alien.
All the rest is pretty meh.
Good casting, characters, weapons and story.
Had my doubts about Brody going in but Royce turned out to be a great bada$$.

Pretty sure it was a very conscious decision to ape the '87 movie as much as they could get away with it. They had a "bad-***" leader guy, guy with big machine guy, Latina who survives along with the bad-*** leader guy, in a jungle, fought Predators, even had the Predator from the first movie, etc. Honestly, I didn't think it was bad, but it wasn't particularly good or memorable to me. Fatburn is probably the best thing about it, just because he was so bat-**** crazy. I remember the Predators being awful. Guy beating the Predator was a samurai sword was ridiculous. I guess that was a carry-over from AvP, or maybe even Predator 2, where the Predators are weak little *****es.

The only thing I had a hard time believing was Fatburn being that fat in that situation.
You'd a thought the preds were trying to fatten him up to eat him rather than just take his head as a trophy. Didn't have much of a problem with the samurai fight as the Preds love a good fight especially if the prey want to go Mano e Mano. What's the sport in plasma castering everything?
