By afterbirth what do you mean. It's hard to see in this pic?
Ive just been looking on google, and i couldnt find anything good enough to show :-/ But when you see them in the movie (the none water scenes) the domes arent clean, they have bits of flesh and gunk on them like after they birthed they didnt get cleaned and its stayed & dried on

Normally that couldnt happen because Xenos cast off their skin as they grow. But the ones in A:R are from a Queen with human DNA in it so its possible it grew up without needing to cast and thus remnants of their hosts guts are still on them.

This is really making me want to watch A:R _-_

I disagree I thought the Aline looked boss in A3, and Charles Dance is the bomb.

He is my dear, sweet brother Numsey! :rotfl

The shots of the Alien when they used the costume/animatronics were fantastic. Right after Boggs and Rains are killed, when Golic looks up and the creature just sneers at him. Or when Ripley and Dillon tear Kevin away while he's being killed and we see those brief shots of the inner-mouth retracting and snarling. I love how vicious the Dog Alien looks.

Yep. Far more deadly and realistic in appearance than the Xenos in Aliens. The puppet shots are terrible though. The only flaw of the movie.

Man, seeing these gifs reminds me of that great atmosphere of utter terror and loss of hope that Alien 3 has. Need to watch it again.

A lot of people hate Alien 3 because they're ******* ADD Cameron-loving crybabies. Alien 3 (special edition) is a better film than Aliens. Deal with it.

..and Prometheus is not far behind.

Oh **** this.

Most of us Alien 3 fans are not this hyperbolic. Christ.

Or retarded.

Here's something I find rather insulting. The game was released last week, and maybe a week or two before that for reviewers and what not. A few modders have already improved Colonial Marines in that short amount of time when the professional developers that were PAID to do it over several years couldn't produce this.

There's a couple screen pics of the progress, but here's the Kotaku article:
You may have heard that Aliens: Colonial Marines has some problems. Among those problems is the fact that the PC version of the game looks like pretty raggedy. The ship interiors and darkly-lit alien worlds taking very little advantage of recent advances in PC graphics technology.

While the game itself—the levels, the writing, the audio—may be beyond saving, that's not going to stop intrepid PC modders from doing their damnedest to improve it. Soon after the game came out, several mods surfaced that would enable DirectX 10 support and enhance Colonial Marines' lighting effects, which were a notable weakness of the vanilla game. (Top image is another slider is of the SweetFX mod via Dsogaming.)

Other users have taken to tweaking the game's .ini file to make it more detailed and add support for modern video cards, as well as increasing the number of dead space-marines the game can show, among other things.

Steam user adonys has posted this comprehensive list of .ini tweaks, along with some downloadable .rar packages containing all of the modifications. It's a work in progress, and I haven't had a chance to test the tweaks out myself, but they sound worth a shot.

Among adonys' findings when studying the game's settings is the fact that the game doesn't even appear capable of recognizing modern PC graphics cards. You'll have to go in and manually add support for advanced functionality.

- none of the new generation video cards are listed into the compatibilities files, and therefore my 680 GT OC was loaded with the default batch settings no 4, instead of 5 (which is the maxed out one).

Huh.

It'll be interesting to see just how far modders can push this game beyond its initial flawed state.

This franchise isn't beyond saving. It just needed a good push in the right direction. Prometheus was the right push in a good direction. So all we need, is Scott to bring his triple A game, and actually make something worthy of the series.

It's not that hard. I don't understand why people haven't done it yet.

It's crazy to see how drastic the changes in lighting effects could have made this game good. And like you said the amount of time it took and the fact the developers were paid to put out this embarrassment is disappointing.
