Wow... that is astonishing! I've never put together resin kits of any kind, but after I get mine put together and learn how it's done... I would be available. Just wouldn't want to mess anyone else's up, best to use my own as the guinea pig...so to speak.
It all sounds good to me...so far. I trust Chris after buying many nice pieces from him for my custom marines. He does great work on the tiny stuff like knives, belt tools, etc. I can only imagine how nice his castings of Angie's great work will be on the sentry guns! I can't wait to get them and put them together for my display. I'm still in it for all four guns....A, B, C, and D.
Thanks DBoz, Noted. And thanks so Much for offering to do slide decals for us.
Btw (You Rock) denotes Members volunteering their time and talent to contribute to this Project's Development. Working with Angie to provide Mechanical Drawings, Graphic Design Specs. Decals, etc.
69 kits, 1 Member unaccounted for (assuming one per) comes to 70 potential kit orders out of a Maximum ES of 100 kits. Each SSF Member ordering a kit must agree that this special one time SSF offer price (tbd) will be for the personal use and Collection of the Buyer and for no other purpose.
I've worked with a lot of resin kits before. I think most will find this much less daunting than they might believe looking at the parts list. Most of us built models as a kid. Not a whole lot different.
Great news indeed! I really expected these puppies were gonna set us back some serious coin, but for that price I'm holding out for the full set A-D, unless something entirely unforseen happens. This is gonna be freakin' legendary in the world of garage kit masterpieces!

Just a note if you are just checking in... Angie won't begin working on this project until the first weeks in October. Depending on what Chris says as far as economy with higher volume of kits cast, the ES may be set sooner than later. As far as payment, you'll need to make a 33% (Approx $20) Non refundable downpayment per unit to secure your kit(s) as we near Angie's start time.
I hope pjam, that I can pay that down payment using a money order? I cannot use Paypal anymore, and I'm restricted now (by my wife) to pay for eBay wins and anything else like that through the mail using a money order. I guess as we get closer, there will be an address for you, or Angie where I could mail the money order to? I'd have make my final payment that way too for the four guns I want to get. Let me know. Thanks!
Bummer. Yeah, I don't get it either but I am sure he has very good reasons. Kit Estimates thrown out the window. Back to square one, or two. Just as I spent over 20 hours getting this together.
Anyone who knows a good reliable caster, please PM me.
Thanks
P
As I said I'm sure he had very good resaons. He did advise ME that we keep this project as discreet as possible but I don't know if that would make any difference at this point because nothing has been done, no contracts signed, no money changed hands, no kits produced or even designed.
In any event details of this project as it relates to any individuals involved will be kept strictly confidential from this point on.
That's cool, but I would want to know who the caster is before I shelled out a dime. There are a few I wouldn't do biz with and wouldn't support them if they were involved in this project.
No nash, not at all. There were no reasons given and I am not assuming anything so you all know what I know which is what I posted. He's out, that's all... and it is probably better for all of us to keep our cards closer to the vest.
There have been a number of garage kit projects done over at OSW and other sites without a hitch, I don't see why this one is any different so, like I said, I don't get it.
So... we lost one quote from a good caster, we have three months to come up with another. As far as future casters they must be approved by AP. When one is selected anyone can PM me for details when announced.
