I realized looking at the comparison shot posted a few posts back that even the teeth on the AVP version lost some of the ferocity and evil that was in the Giger and Winston works.

OK gang. Got to share this, so I can share what is to come....

OK. I had it on order, lost my cool, cancelled it. Had some 'splainin' done to me, and thought about it, and reordered it. THEN...saw one on Ebay, and this went through my mind...(Before knowing that SS was about to post their notices I might add...)

I could get this within a week, and be done with it, and KNOW, once and for all...

So, I did it. I ordered it from HK, fast delivery, the works, and it's due Friday/Saturday.
No more wait. No more worry. Just got it and be done.


WHY? you ask, did Les do all this insane bobbling of buying? Is he insane? Well, maybe. I might can't dispute that...but mostly...
I'm an ALIEN fan. I couldn't help myself. I had to know. I think it was slowly eating my brain. I kept thinking, it's posable, It's posable....

Actually, it was because the one I saw at ABC Express, had these in-hand shots, and I liked two things about what I saw...

One, the newer, "final" paint job is kinda cool. OK! (ducks to avoid large thrown objects from fellow members...) But it was in normal lighting, not studio, perfectimundo....

Two: It is VERY shiney. Curious. It looks good very shiney. Me likes my aliens all wet and gooey and shiney. Is this some cool paint coating, of which I am unaware??? a rubber seal? Some new clear material????
I MUST HAVE THE ANSWER! NOW!



It's an Alien. Not a Colonial Marine. Not Ripley. Not a Powerloader. But an ALIEN. I have waffled on this thing more times than a tennis match, so I knew I just couldn't wait.

Glad to see you bringing your enthusiasm to the table Les! I know just how you feel, I opted to pay $10 more to go through Toys2 to get this one soon as possible, I couldn't wait longer, and even now, seeing Sideshow get it a few weeks later, sure I could have earned the rewards points, but I'll have this thing in a few more days, and that's all the world for me. I am so with you on the shine they've gotten on this figure, don't know how they achieved it, but it's great to get the slimy look without having to do something custom that could ultimately ruin/destroy the materials. I MAY try putting some clear medication I have for cuts off the jaws for a few slim dripping shots, don't know if it'll work or not but could be cool, and thanks for the compliments on my photos. As much a fan of the film, I'm also a fan of the shooting and lighting styles and try to photography these things in similar manner, can't wait to get Hicks and shoot him too.

Saw those shots on ABC Express listing Les, be very interested to hear your thoughts and see what you do with it! Congrats on getting it so early, looks like it'll be about 3 weeks before it ships from Adam...

err, Yeah, with me you ARE Mate! I think you'll need the lamp, lamp arm and power pack and you should be good to go... wires can run to lamp as Dek said, reapint wires, no prob... I'll need 5 of these...

I'd be down for those lamps too... that's a sweet idea... could do some very cool pics with that upgrade.

And I just got my notice too, really excited about this. I like the new paint apps too, very shiny and not just one tone.

Rigging some lights into the Marines equipment sounds like a fantastic idea.

I'd defintaley be interested in this upgrade if it is feasable

Today I got a notice from the parcel courier saying they called to deliver my Hicks this morning and I wasn't home . . . . noooooooo!!! lol

Anyway, I should have it tomorrow :chew I wont be able to sleep tonight lol
