Did the dinobots ever combine? It'd be cool if they were originally a combiner bot. And once they combined, they'd have the ability to transform into one gigantic dinosaur then back to one massive robot form.

They never did. They were massive enough to go against the likes of Devastator.

Would've been cool, but considering their very limited intelligence, a Gestalt formed out of five ******** 'bots would've been catastrophic. Lol.

I've been waiting ages for my usual seller Robot Kingdom to list this, but they still havent! I wonder why not, but if BBTS is the only one (or TFSource too?), then I may have to bite!

In the UK Marvel comics all the Dinobots were intelligent.

There were a few nods towards the personality traits detailed in the G1 tech spec bios in the cartoon but in general it was kept as simple as possible which is why the Dinobots filled the "big, but stupid" role.

I don't know what's happened with the Dinobots in IDW but their characterisation is almost as bad as what Bay's done so I'm not inclined to find out.

I did think about it, but there's too many other things I want that have taken priority so I never bothered.

In the idw comics, only grimlock has the "me big dumb and stupid" speech, and it's becuase his voice box is damaged. It was damaged fighting shockwave.

The rest of th dinobots are fine, if short tempered.

In the idw comics, much like the old marvel comics the dinobots were the autobot special forces.

Got Scoria! Really hefty figure and more massive than I was expecting (not a bad thing). The joints are tight but his left horn is loose. Not a terrible big deal in dino-mode but a little annoying in robot-mode because it won't stay in place like the right one. Overall I am really impressed. It definitely makes me excited for the rest of them. I just don't know where I'll display the set because the 5 of them are going to take up a lot of space.

I was the first kid in my class to get Optimus Prime, which was probably the closest I ever got to being cool for any period of time

The spoilt kid at my school came back from a holiday in the USA with toys like Swoop that were never available here....I think he got beat up a couple of times

I won't completely rule out getting Star Saber but it's not going to be a priority.

He looks to scale quite well with Grimlock in dino mode.

so does anyone have any problems pulling the legs apart (out of Dino mode)??? that peg seems to peg in very tight and is a scary thing when trying to pull apart

Hmmm...as lacklustre as the design is, I think they've done a decent job on it. It's not my cup of tea but it has a lot of potential to customise it up; panel lining, few additional paint apps here and there and of course some reprolables...I'm actually considering buying it now..........

They match up really well considering the differences in size in robot mode.

When FT do their Grimlock it's going to make for an intresting comparison.
