They made him smaller on purpose to make his robot mode in scale with everyone else. As a result though, his car mode had to be a bit smaller.

Just got my MP Bee today, he is awesome, but his vehicle mode is on the small side. It is about the size of the deluxe figures, definitely not in scale with the other MP Autobots.

Yeah, if I nitpick, that's one thing I don't like about BB. Would rather they just permanently leave the Autobot symbol on there. That bothers me more than the lack of wrist articulation or covering on the inside of his forearm.

I'm guessing there will be a recolouring of Uktra Magnus released at some point; that red grill in truck mode is horrible to me, cartoon accurate or not.
As for Fans Toys Snarl, just not feeling it. I regret buying scoria and its up for sale

I am close to dropping the deposit down with Kapow Toys for the upcoming toy colour version just for the sake of having him as I waited too long for Giga Power to get their fingers out so missed out on getting Scoria first time & the pics of Swoop & Snarl have just be gooding me knowing that I can still get them but not Scoria

After the near perfection of MP12-21 Ultra Buttflap looks like something that was designed in about 5 minutes at the end of a working day, even MP05 looks nicer in robot mode.

Because if he contained a white prime, we wouldn't have a buttflap. Trying to do him self-contained is/was a mistake, and it shows.

I always thought having Optimus inside Magnus was cheap. No matter how well it looks. Unlike Prime, Magnus's trailer IS part of him, and i applaud TT for finally making it happen.

That kfc thing looks like an anorexic version of Magnus anyway.

There was. Shogo Hasui was working on it but for reasons we don't yet know it was never completed and the decision was taken to go with Kobayashi's self contained design instead.

I don't really have a problem with the self contained part, just the way it's been executed. I could get past the height if he didn't look so tubby, he looks like he's eaten the Dinobots

That pic is of a mockup he made using G1 Ultra Magnus parts just to test whether the idea would work.

Ah, then yeah… it already looks pretty good if that's what it is. I think doing the armor would have worked better. I'm torn on the Hasui vs Kobayashi thing. I really love the way a lot of the molds Kobayashi worked on /look/ but at least all of the ones I have experience with (Binaltech Smokescreen, MP Rodimus and even MP-10) are all a real pain in the *** to transform. Hasui's stuff from what I have experienced just feel so much more solid and are just better toys all around AND they still look good. I feel like maybe Kobayashi is sometimes a little too clever for his own good when it comes to engineering.
