QC issues anyone has had aside, its hard to argue with this pic. Apo just looks too well enmeshed in peoples collections, he doesn't stand out as gaudy, overly kibbled, etc. These guys did a great job on the aesthetic.

other then the loose arms. no to bad on my end for the arms just put some furniture polish in the arm sockets let it dry over night or a few hours and stiffens it right up. but this is the mighty megatron we all wanted

I thought TT had the Porsche license and Jazz being a popular as he was, id say is inevitable he'll get the MP treatment soon.

A damn fine prototype from these 3p guys though.

Takara haven't got the Porsche license....yet.

They've established a working relationship with the VW Group who own Porsche and Lamborghini so it's been assumed that it's only a matter of time before MP Jazz happens officially.

On the other hand there's also been some talk that Porsche are the most difficult of the VW Group companies to work with in that they're a lot pickier about what they'll allow their brand to be associated with. In the past they had an issue with their brand being associated with anything war related which meant that Binaltech Jazz ended up as a Mazda so it depends where they now stand on that issue.

I think the renders of this 3rd party Jazz look great, but he's not a character I have any intrest in.

I love Jazz & I see him as easily one of the most important of the Car Bots
I can understand your feelings towards Tracks etc. but to me Jazz is as important as Prowl & Ironhide to any G1 display.

I have no nostalgic attachment to Jazz as I never had the original toy, barely saw the cartoon and don't remember him standing out in the Marvel UK comics.

I'm also bored with carbots in general and don't think I need any more.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember him being a fairly big character in the UK comic too.

But no worries if you have no attachment & feeling overrun by Carbots then definitely money better spent elsewhere

For now I'm much more intrested in other subgroups, particularly Decepticons as there's a couple of decent possibilities for army building with the various Insecticons and XTransbots Scourge.

That said it's good that 3rd parties are having a go at the likes of Mirage, Sunstreaker, Hound and now Jazz because at Takara's rate of releasing figures it could be decades before they ever finish the series 1 lineup

Just like I did with Quakewave and Apollyon, I'm not holding my breathe for anything and will own this as soon as it comes out. It feels so nice to have the major G1 'cons "completed" but I feel like there's still so many autobot cars missing.

It depends on who makes those decisions, would it be the VW Group as the parent company, or just Porsche as the subsidiary?

If it's the parent company then a shift from the "no war toys" policy that prevented Takara from using the New Beetle for Binaltech Bumblebee might have already happened as we wouldn't have got MP Bumblebee.

If it's just down to Porsche, then there's no guarantee of anything.

Takara's sister company Tomy released a Porsche 935 with Martini logos in their Hot Wheels style Tomica line but the obvious difference there is that it was just a car, it didn't transform into a gun wielding robot.

The whole "war toys" thing may still be the sticking point for Porsche and if it is then MP Jazz will not happen officially.

Agreed - I hope that Takara releases as many of the carbots from the original G1 Team as possible. I understand there's licensing involved. Then the coneheads.

They can do anything they want. I remember one 3P Bumblebee having both VW and autobot logo on them and nothing was done about it. Even had the nerve to include a coin
