Given that he was only in the cartoon for about 30 seconds combined, I'm not too attached to that look. But, he'll probably look better on display being a brighter shade of purple. Not sure which way I'll go yet.

30 secs?? It's been a long time since I've seen the show, but remember him having a larger impression on me, which would likely have not been the case if he was in for so little time.

I was exaggerating slightly, but he hardly ever appeared in the cartoon, since he stayed on Cybertron and apart from the pilot, would only show up when the Decepticons were transporting back to Cybertron for one reason or another (not very often).

G1 cartoon Shockwave was a bit crap, he sounded like he had asthma and generally stayed on Cybertron doing very little.

G1 comic Shockwave took on all the Dinobots simultaneously and kicked their butts.

Even in the cartoon when Shockwave was in a fight, he was IN IT! He also had very little to no fear of ANY Autobots no matter who they were if I remember correctly.

So i havent bought a Transformers for years now but after seeing Devastator i had to have him. My all time Fav combiner in the scale i pretty much have wanted him. i couldn't pass it up. Ordered it from TRU online and i find it funny that i got it for $149.99 and its now $159.99. wtf? Anyways super freaking pumped to get this!

I really like the design for Beachcomber and was planning on getting it. That hand painted version looks really disappointing though and sticks out like a sore thumb next to the official MPs. Hope the production version has much better paint than that or I'll probably skip it

Hey guys soI haven't been on here in a number of months and the last big thing i remember being announced is the mp tracks figure so was wondering if there have been any newer announcements since then regarding the mp line and the 3p lines?

Loads of 3rd party announcements, just browse through the recent posts in this thread. Regarding MPs, Ironhide was confirmed and shown at a convention. And a red Tracks variant that is actually a female character. Next year they will be doing Optimus Primal, and supposedly some other Beast Wars figures. I think that's it.

Exactly.

I think the white on the torso and upper legs looks a bit odd, it's cartoon accurate but being 100% faithful to the cartoon doesn't always work as what looked good in 2D doesn't necessarily transfer well to a 3D object....the toy coloring might have looked better.

In any case I'll wait and see what the production version looks like before writing it off.

Different people have different opinions and they should be respected regardless of whether you agree or not.

Your constant digs at my comments suggest you are unable of doing that.

If I disliked Takara to the amount you seem to believe I would not have paid UK import prices for this lot,

Nice collection Corsair! Wish I had enough space to have one of each in alt and robot mode; I wouldn't be able to just stop at the cars though, would need two of Starcream, two of Soundwave etc! I was wondering what the Autobots are standing on to give them a bit more height above the car modes...are they video cassettes?

My display usually has my 3rd party stuff with it, I just decided to do some pics with just the official stuff for a change....I clearly hate the brand so much that I felt obliged to buy so many figures twice

Stopping with doubles of just the cars was a decision I made early on as my budget and display space would have been eaten up a LOT quicker if I'd done the same with other characters.

They are VHS tapes. They make handy risers and also fit in with the whole 80's nostalgia of G1 Transformers

Fellow forum member Silent Bob suggested it and it's worked out well so far particularly with my bookcases being black.
