I was never blown away by Tracks right from the first prototype images.

One thing I particularly dislike is the clear plastic on the windows as it makes the robot head stick out a lot more than it should in car mode....all the other carbots had darker tinted windows which helped hide robot parts.

I get that it was done so Blaster is visible through the windows but that feature is a lame gimmick that I would never bother with, I'd have much preferred the tinted windows as it would have been consistent with what went before.

Mine has now shipped from TFS Express but with MMC Mirage imminent and Badcube Sunstreaker only weeks away my enthusiasm isn't great, I'm not even sure I'll keep it, let alone buy a second to keep in alt mode.

Honestly he is probably my worst MP that I own (and I have original release MP-09!)

Hard to explain the weakness of the entire figure, I wanted him to be awesome as I have such vivid memories of playing with him as a kid & I have the Takara books edition still as well, he was an ultimate fave back in the day but this just not.

Here's my quick crappy pics...

Gapage...

I don't honestly think they could have minimised that gap in anyway but damn it's fugly.

And I finally got round to opening up my Bluestreak as well & there is just so much awesome in this mold that it's such a shame Tracks is so poor...

And then just to show the quality gulf between the pair...

I'm scared to try & pose Tracks because it means you have to fiddle with a ton of stuff to get him to balance & look right, I'm not sure he'll see the light of day now & will probably just remain in alt mode...which I'm terrified to try to get him back into...I have enough trouble with Bluestreak as it is (those blasted legs!!!!) without faffing with his transformation

To an extent all Transformers have gappy bits, the designers have to meet certain pricepoints which means they cut corners and real world physics on a toy over cheats in the animation also plays a part.

That being said Tracks could probably have been done better and I believe it would have with Hasui leading the design team.

I think it still fits in with the other carbots and I do like the shade of blue that's been used but it's not blowing me away like the previous carbots did and with Ironhide & Ratchet looking so poor my expectations for future ones from Takara have been lowered.

Glad you're digging blue Bluestreak, the Nissan mold is one of my favorites and to finally get that color scheme was awesome :yess:

If you're having trouble with the transformation just use a video review to help.

I need to stop seeing pics of that Bluestreak. He should have looked that way from the very beginning in the original show.

"no, you do NOT need ANOTHER repaint of the SAME damn figure..."

There were a few decisions like that during the transition from Diaclone to Transformers.

The very first Diaclone carbot release was the red version of Sunstreaker which was initially going to be called Spinout for the Transformers rebranding.

Somewhere along the way Hasbro decided to go with the yellow version instead, changed the name to Sunstreaker and released the red version of the other Lamborghini mold as Sideswipe.

The yellow Diaclone Sideswipe was eventually issued as Tigertrack by eHobby many years later, red Sunstreaker never saw a release in Transformers packaging as the original mold was lost/destroyed which is why there's never been an official reissue of the yellow one.

That is usually the case with every new MP I think. Officials more so than others.

I'm cool as I actually can't wait for Tracks.

Opinions are just that. Opinions.

I think people are nitpicking tracks way too much

If a couple of people giving their honest thoughts on a figure is too much for you then steer clear of the TFW forums :lol

If you like the figure that's fine, neither soundwave or I were telling anyone else not to buy it or anything, our comments reflect how we feel about it and nothing more than that.

TFW is something else. It's comedy, actually.

When SW was first unveiled, there was not a single page without having people fighting.

It's all good fun for me nowadays.

Now, where is MP Trypticon?

TFW's handy for new product info but actual rational discussion involves negotiating a vast ocean of s**t in order to find people who aren't being extreme in their views regardless of which side of an argument they're on.

MP Trypticon will probably be attempted by Fans Toys if they can pull off Omega Supreme.

They've said they're targeting a price of under $500 for Omega Supreme, which could mean $499.99 but if it's their usual quality a figure that big would justify a large price.

people's "opinions" don't bother me,but it gets old reading the nit-picks on everything......Tracks is much cooler than Iron-Hide/Ratchet,but that is because I have my favorites when I was a kid and the tracks as a toy was one of them

All that was said is that it's not met soundwave's expectations and that I'm pretty sure it won't meet mine.

That's not nit picking, it's just fact.

If you get Tracks and have fun with it more power to you, same goes for anyone else.

franpincho,
As an example of the sort of comedy that TFW excels in I recommend the 3rd party Sunstreaker threads which are now engaged in arguments over which toy robot butt looks the best :rotfl

Andras looks terrific, and it sounds like quality's been improved drastically since Apollyon - but do I NEED an MP Scourge? :)

Their Cyclonus and Scourge are looking so good I'm strongly considering getting both.

539 Designs is on a par with Shogo Hasui, that's how good I think he is. His first couple of figures ( Krank & Stax ) were short of the mark and Ollie had poor QC but he's learned very quickly and he's nailed everything he's touched since.

If XTB/KFC ( The companies have the same owner & factory ) can't up their build quality his great designs won't get properly realised and that'd be a huge shame.

The initial response to the Andras test shot suggests an improvement, it'll be intresting to see what the in hand reports say about the production figure.

What are the chances of MP Megatron and Soundwave being reissued? I'm not really collecting anything these days since the prices of statues have gone beyond what I'm willing to pay for them. I'm thinking about getting some of these after seeing pics of Shockwave (my favorite Decepticon). I bought the first Optimus that was released way back when but I never got any beyond that. Out of the ones I want to get, Megatron and Soundwave are the only ones not readily available.

There's a loose soundwave on eBay right now for about $100. Which isn't too bad. You can pick up the cassettes cheap especially with the ko versions available.

I just received Generation Toys Scrapper and Mixmaster and they are both fantastic! Probably some of the best, most solid Transformers I own. Big, solid, great paint apps, amazing details, fun transformations, and overall just badass. I'll try to take pics this weekend. Now the wait for the other 4...

For Megatron, you should consider getting the X-Transbots one. It is amazing and fits in perfectly with the Masterpiece line.
