bcm77, aren't those hands interchangeable instead of actually articulated?
Doesn't work like that. Hasbro US is in charge of making the stuff and distributing it in the US itself; the other Hasbro departments place their own orders for stuff and try and sell it to the stores, who may be fickle as to what they wish to order. For example, the voyager wave 5 cancellation probably was because no store simply wants to order more voyagers. I'm not sure if this is based on stores in the UK alone or the entirety of Europe; forgot if Hasbro UK is in charge of our little corner of the world.
As for the prices; it's true that our stuff is more expensive, since they have to comply with basic European rates. According to a Hasbro NL employee, the basic prices are either 11 or 12 euros, so pretty reasonable. But it's the stores that's driving the prices up, for their own reasons (possibly in a blind move to drive up the prices since they're selling fewer toys).
This is why some stores have different prices, depending on the chain. For example: the Dutch toystores are all owned by one corperation and have the same prices more or less, while a Belgian/French toystore that has a few outlets in the Netherlands have sometimes much cheaper figures and a larger selection most of the time.
No, the hands are fully articulated, not interchangeable ones in varied poses. there are more pictures on the igear site that show how articulated they are.
As far as the other thing, the simple act of including the extra hands, OR making the mold smaller, actualy gets around copywrite laws I discovered.
here is the thing, in manufacturing , if the new product is at all different from the old product, be it a moved screw hole, or a smaller version, then it's considered different.
i know this becuase i work as a security gaurd for the company that owns Char-broil.
they had their grills switched to a manufacturing plant in china. the SAME YUEAR another , chinese company copied their grills, making them slightly smaller, and moved the heat controlls to the left 2 inches.
Becuase of these MINISCULE CHANGES, the grill was considered a different product, and they had no legal recourse.
Kinda ????ty, but this is in essence the same thing. I don't think hasbro is going to have alot of recourse..
Even then, at 90$, you're not going to have all that many people who want one, just mostly people who want a smaller G1 prime.
I've got masterpiece prime, and I'll be getting this one as well.
