Hot Rod/Rodimus has actually become one of my favorite G1 characters.

I was more upset that the rest of the original Autobot team was killed in the movie than Prime, especially Ironhide.

Optimus Prime is like Superman for me: way too damn perfect and "god-like" to be interesting or relatable. He bores me in most TF continuities. As a character, I strongly preferred Rodimus to Optimus in G1.

I agree that Rodimus is a more interesting character than Prime. Where's the fun in a character that ALWAYS does the right thing?
It's the reason Batman is more interesting than Superman, Gambit is more interesting than Cyclops, Han Solo is more interesting than Luke Skywalker etc (IMO)

I remember how much hate Hot Rod/Rodimus AND Ultra Magnus used to get when I first started visiting TF forums around the mid/late 90's. I guess people have finally warmed up to them after all these years, but I guess some people will just never like them Doesn't bother me though, I love these characters

My Seacons arrived last night... beauty of a Transformers set. The mold has suffered over the years, but it's a must buy for any G1 fan. I'll snap some pics tonight, probably do a YT review Thursday.
