Hopefully this'll give Hasbro UK some motivations to keep their releases a bit more up to date and complete.

EDIT: Oh hell yes! New pics overdose! And Wreck-Gar isn't the only surprise in the club mag; there's also a new G2 Prime!

Transformers robots 'Britain's most popular toy' over past 25 years
The Transformers robots have remained one of Britain’s most popular toys over the past 25 years despite a dramatic change in children’s tastes, retailers have disclosed.

And here to comment, UK correspondant Dubz. Take it away Dubz...
:panic:

And what exactly are you expecting?

Only that i find it amusing that TF's can be "the most popular toy in the UK" despite the fact that we cant buy half of the new releases here most of the time...
Shows you how dedicated (and thus better :p) UK fans are i suppose.

Anyway onto these new toys:

Must have: Jazz, Perceptor, Tracks, Scourge, Wreck-Gar, "G2" Laser Prime (i have the original and this update is stunning!)" WFC Cliff...the rest? Meh.

I am hoping that they will bring more of the WFC toys out. I love the design on these things and would easily buy a complete collection!

Just messing with you. I was surprised to see that blurb since you're the only person who I see comment about availability in the UK and you have so much trouble finding TFs. Maybe some areas are better than others. :dunno

i can remember xmas 1986, my dad driving out of london to pick me up g1 prime for a measly £20ish as toysrus and everywhere else was sold out!! i can remember walking into woolworths store as a six year old back then and picking up g1 wheeljack, blur, sunstreaker and many others for next to nothing! they were about £7 each back then! i used to get home rip open and then dispose of the boxes!....little did i know that i would deeply regret doin that!

Of the new molds I will be buying,

Jazz
Tracks
Wreck-Gar
G2 Optimus Prime
Scourge
Perceptor
Windcharger

Though I was unimpressed with most of the first batch of Takara's United line I'll wait to see how their versions of the above look in comparison before deciding which one to get.

Despite the alleged popularity of Transformers in the UK I'll just order them from Kapow Toys as the chances of seeing any of them round here are minimal at best.

The ROTF line was supposedly the best selling toy line in the UK for a couple of months after the movie came out but it didn't stop the Voyager wave with Long Haul being missed out. Then there's the HFD Voyager wave with Bludgeon & Mindwipe, the show accurate Animated Ultra Magnus, the last few Animated toys, Masterpiece Starscream etc etc etc.

I live in a different part of the country to Dubz so it's by no means limited to certain areas.

Nope, it's the same all over.

As Dubz and BCM77 have said it's pretty awful. We never get a full line of figs, with whole waves being skipped and random deco choices for the figs we do get.

To be honest I have pretty much given up on trying to get what I want at a bricks and mortar store. It's just not worth the hassle and inevitable let down.

We can keep hoping that Hasbro UK will finally pull their fingers out but it’s pointless and “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

I just order everything I want online now.

From the new “Generations” line I want a lot, although I will wait on the “United” deco’s before I decide.
I think Tracks in particular will wind up better from Takara.

I remember Woolworth, got most of my G.I Joe there.

Screw the boxes, you were a kid enjoying your toys.

That's pretty much how I feel, I got Skystalker and Battle Blade Bumblebee from the Tesco that's 10 minutes from my house in the last couple of weeks but they're the first TF's I've got from there since before Christmas and neither of the branches of TRU near me are worth wasting the petrol to get there.

So angry. :dunno

I would love it, I really dig the Soundwave figure.

DON'T!!! :nono

That Jazz looks pretty sweet. Perceptor as a car is weird, though.

Yeah him being a truck throws me off.

Yeah him being a truck throws me off.

It does a little, but it helps knowing that it's a homage to the TFA version. I kinda wish they would have made him look more like that one though, but at least the robot mode is pretty much perfect. Even the legs aren't as bad as that blurry panel pic made it seem.

I don't mind something like Perceptor as a truck. He can be a science truck. Just pretend Bill Paxton is chasing weather in him.

I didn't know that, ok I am cool with it.

Yes, Transformers, the UK's most popular toyline.:gah:

I found this at the Allspark forums, Sorry if this has already been posted, and please bear in mind it is just a rumour atm but...

"Allspark user Darkmount has stopped by with an email that he reportedly received from Hasbro UK. If the email is accurate, it sounds like bad news for UK fans...

Thank you for your interest in our Transformers product line.

Regrettably, I can confirm that we will not be offering any further case assortments from the Generations line.
I can confirm however that we will be fully supporting all other Transformers lines, including the newly released Stealth Force toys.
Please continue to check your local retailer for new products.

Kind regards,
Sarah
