Generation 1 Omega Supreme, updated with a more modern approach. One of many's favorite Autobots and toys, I went to town with articulation and details.

Well, got him done. Took 7 hours. Straight. One bathroom break. Whole lot of swearing. First thing in the morning I'm going and getting some model glue and gluing the ____ out of some of the smaller parts that like to pop off when you breathe anywhere near them.

Overall I'm really happy with him now that he's assembled...just have to do some tweaking to make sure everything stays attached, and then I'm never touching or breathing near him again.

He looks awesome, though. Will take pics later, I don't want anything to do with him for the rest of the night.

my DMK prime gets here monday. i'll probably spend an hour everyday to build this. 1 hour everyday would probably mean 1 week to complete but that's what it's all about isn't it? prolong the ecstacy and all that.

About to go out and get some model glue for the smaller parts, e.g. the smaller parts on the head/upper body that really just don't want to snap in. Hopefully I'll get it done without losing my ____.

it's a model kit.

BUILDING it killed the resale value unless you're putting a Frenzy-rumble or dub level paint-job on it.
most Plamo fans don't want an already built kit.
And as fragle as plamo kits are, i doubt many TF fans would buy one second hand.

building it is the fun.

It's a plastic kit, BUY THE CORRECT GLUE.

don't get CA glue. it will mess up your kit. CA glue is for metal to plastic, or metal to metal, or wood to plastic, etc.



you want the stuff in the tiny black squarish bottle. there are several brands , but the bottles all look the same.

I was so focused most of the time that I didn't eat or drink anything, I just wanted it done.

He's fragile at certain points in his upper body. There are very small pieces that like to pop off, and once you get to the later stages, things like to go flying as you're attaching the larger pieces. There are also certain things that just aren't going to fit right for you, and I've had to accept that I'm gonna have to glue the ball joint in place on his neck or the head's going to fall off because it straight up will not fit snugly into the joint.

I've currently misplaced one of his chest windows, and seeing as it's clear plastic, lord only knows where it went.

Seeing these DMKs is making me take serious consideration into starting up collecting SOME TFs again.

The small pieces are already glued, it didn't take much. The hardest part is having hands bigger than a 12 year old Asian girl, because some of the pieces are just tiny. Here's a better pic of him and Buster. Ignore the date stamp, this camera is a retarded piece of ____.

Also, when I was assembling him the leg directions seemed off to me, as if they were printed backwards, so I just assembled the other leg the way the instructions showed. Turns out mine shipped with legs reversed.

Wow! thank you for posting all this info on that optimus prime model kit, I was thinking of getting one but based on my previous experiences with this sort of model kits I'm gonna have to settle with the revoltech version, I just can't stand all that assembling, glueing, pieces falling, tiny parts, or just the idea of loosing or breaking something, oh no sir, that's not for me and my 12 thumbs.

He's really not all THAT difficult, I've just built maybe one model kit in my 30 years, so I'm not all that experienced at it. My biggest issues were snapping parts into other parts that consisted of 4-5 pieces that fell right apart upon having to apply force to get the later piece in. The directions don't help you much, because quite frankly you can put something together early in the kit and about 4 hours later it tells you to add another piece to it, when in reality it would have been so much easier just to put the entire piece together at once and snap it in.

Once I hit hour 6, I think frustration just set in and I started apparently making up swear words and laughing to myself in fits of frustration while my girlfriend was growing increasingly amused.

Among my favorite bits are,

Impactor's dramatic return to the Wreckers lineup

Overlord's cockiness when speaking to Megatron as it's reminiscent of G1 Starscream

Ironfist's character is a gentle dig at fanboys the world over

Rotorstorm's demise is very funny but it also demonstrates how the newest Wreckers are in way over their heads

Kup. Every Autobot combat team needs a cy-gar chomping, grizzled old 'bot and he's on fine form

I also got the TPB of Escalation but I've not read that yet as I'm waiting for Infiltration & Stormbringer to arrive and want to read those first.
