Thanks for the compliments guys! It's really been a lot of fun working on him, now I just hope that I won't ____ up the paintjob. :lol

Tell me about it. Yeesh. Some very weird, creep-tastic people out there IMO.

No kidding. Some of the stuff I've seen over the years...:gah:

which two?

The one with the weird human eyes, for one. The pose they are in is just, well, weird and the eyes are creepy and horribly out of place. Then there's the first one, which is just too stupid for words.

EDIT: The 2nd FP Insecticon is out!

Ra88,
Good start on the Megatron custom!

FansProject's Bombshell is out = :yess:

Kapow Toys should get their stock soon then....2 Insecticons down and 1 to go!

FP seem to have taken a leaf out of TFC's book as they've put a set of corrected blades for Shrapnel in with Bombshell to make up for the fact that many ( including mine ) were incorrectly packaged....great customer service! :clap

I've just ordered some more IDW comics, the 4 compilations of the Spotlight series. I had most of them on my old computer before it died but in the meantime have got into actually buying various TF comics and I want to read them all again....the one about Wheelie was particularly good if I remember.

Just picked up the MP TRU Rodimus Prime with the 20% off coupon! Pics later with my other MP figs

Definitely looks a lot better in hand!

Spotlight Wheelie is awesome. Spotlight Arcee is awesome
Spotlight Blurr is awesome, as is Kup

Blurr was my favorite Spotlight when I had them on my old computer, I loved the updated version of his G1 alt mode and thought it would make an awesome toy....maybe iGear can add it to their repertoire of IDW themed releases as there's no way that lazy retool of the Drift mold is a decent representation of the character.

I'd love to see this one day. Blurr was one of the few original TFs I had as a kid. In fact, I think I could list them all off the top of my head:

Sunstreaker
Powerglide
Hook
Blurr
Brainstorm
and I think, Diaclone Bombshell for some reason. Not sure how I got him...

Pretty sure that was it, along with a smattering of Go-Bots.

I had
Optimus Prime
Megatron
Starscream
Soundwave
Bluestreak
Sandstorm
Hotspot
most of the Minibots
Ravage, Rumble & Buzzsaw
Shrapnel
Sludge
Snarl or Slag ( can't remember which )
Kup
Hot Rod
Topspin
Twin Twist

I always wanted Shockwave and Blaster after a friend got them on a vacation to America but they weren't available here....Hasbro's distribution issues are as long as the franchise has existed :lol

ah dont get me started on g1 transformers that i owned as kid and got rid of in my mid teens! sad face! these are ones i remember-

galvatron
megatron
wheeljack
hot rod
optimus prime
ultra magnus
wheelie
bumblebee
seaspray,powerglide+many more minibots
scorponok
metroplex
chromedome
slugslinger
crosshairs
cloudburst
quickswitch
i can remember walkin into woolworths as a kid and gettin wheeljack for like £6! gettin home, ripping out the toys and tech specs and throwing the boxes away bein a kid an all! shame

Haha..i honestly couldnt name all of mine on here..Literally..I think I had probably 95% of them up until the Galvatron days...I didnt have two of the Dinobots...but other than that..I can say I probably had them all

So... MP Rodimus seems to work okay as Hot Rod next to MP Prime, but that's about it. As Rodimus, he'd be too small with MP Prime, and too big either way with Grimlock or the Seekers.

It's too bad - he looks really nice in these pics.

you cant really expect realistic scale with tformers. it is too bad, but imagine how big starscream or unicron would have to be?

Though I'm not the biggest Hot Rod fan (in fact, I still resent him for being a moron and essentially killing Prime :lol ), I do have fond memories of the animated film and wish my TRU would have stocked him before going out of business (technically, moving across town and not re-stocking anything). I'll probably end up buying one online at some point, though.

I have to agree. I don't typically cre about scale too much when it comes to TF figures. For me, I always just want Megs and Optimus to be the taller than the rest

Yea I'm keeping him in Hot Rod mode. Don't really care for the Rodimus face. I like them being the same height. To be honest, with scale always changing in the cartoon, I never really knew how tall any other them really were :lol

yea same here. I'm not the biggest Hot Rod fan either but I remember him in the cartoon and I love the masterpiece figs so I had to get him. I didn't think my TRU was going to have him b/c the last time I went they said they probably wouldn't be getting in any more. I almost skipped over him just b/c I wasn't expecting to see him. :slap

No, I don't care about realistic scale - just more or less how they appeared in the cartoon and the original toy line.

There's a scale chart that I'm not slavishly adhering to or anything, but neatly sums up how I tend to like their 'bot mode sizes. You've all probably seen it before:

Even Grimlock though?

Anyway, just personal preference, I guess! :)

sweet chart i actually havent seen it. i do like to do the same as you, relative scale the best i can.

like the skystriker starscream is the biggest it gets, so he is my shelf starscream right now, and i have the igear pp01 prime with grimlock so that way he is slightly smaller than the dino. i have the fansproject magnus, springer, and hot rod, so those all scale well with the smaller prime, and then most of the other classics, kup, scourge, ironhide ratchet bumblebee, all seem to scale well from there as well.
so scale is important, but it never will eb perfect. it wasnt even close in the cartoon with megatron shrinking and enlarging all the time, so thats how i justify it.

check it out.

A humorous look at the world of Transformer scale

https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Scale

Bottom line is, it'll never be perfect in any one line.

Although with a mixture of different ones it can be pretty close to that scale guide,

Since were talking about scale all the Generations/Universe bots are deluxe size and it looks ok, but I've been really wanting to make it a little more accurate. Most of my movie fig display have a nice scale to it though.
