MP Sideswipe is great news!! Much better than the MP Sunstorm rumors. So, are the Encore 23 Sixshot rumors false too? I actually wanted a G1 Sixshot.

Just pray they dont pull a MP Rodimus on this one I swore not to buy another MP after that one.

Sunstorm is confirmed for release as MP-11S.

No idea about Encore Sixshot.

Mehhhhh... I'm not going to get excited about MP Sideswipe until I see the size. Takara can be all over the place when it comes to scale.

Personally, I'd love it if it was about Classics sized, since I think the Autobot cars in those various lines work great with MP Grimlock and the Seekers - and maybe to a slightly lesser extent, MP-10, though I use Faith Leader so I'm not sure.

Even if this is sized to MP-01 though, I might bite. But if this thing is the same size as the MP Seekers or something, forget it.

Have you seen this, Ben? 3rd party company, but possibly the closest we'll get to an MP Soundwave considering that Hasbro/Takara seem to avoid giving this guy an appropriate G1-accurate update like the plague:

Besides Megatron, all MP have had some kind of remold. Sideswipe fits into this theory. Prowl could be next in line, and I'm sure Soundwave/Soundblaster will come eventually.

Check eBay recently ended auctions. I'm sure you would get more selling them individually than in a lot. I don't think the Alts have appreciated much in value, though they are some of my favorite Transformers in existence.

Some speculation has suggested it's going to be the same size as MP Hot Rod but until there's actual prototype images next to other toys I'll take that with a large pinch of salt.

Ideally they'll use MP-10 as the base point for the scale and he'll be a bit smaller as that way he'll also work well with Faith Leader.

I think that's how Sunstorm will be released.

As for Prowl that would be the next logical Autobot car mold to go for because of the repaint potential eg,

Bluestreak ( Diaclone, G1 toy and G1 cartoon )
Smokescreen

Takara already have a business relationship with Nissan via the Alternity line so getting the rights to the old school Fairlady Z shouldn't be a problem.

Ehhh... As a long-time Transformers fan who remembers the excitement of MP-01 and Alternators Smokescreen prototype images, I wouldn't assume anything.

Yeah, I'm not sure where that's coming from, unless they assume there's some kind of need for every MP figure to be BIG? I hope Takara doesn't believe that to be the case.

If he's as big as MP Hot Rod, he'll be out of scale with every other MP out there, including MP Hot Rod. He should be maximum about the size of an Alternator figure, but I actually hope he's a bit smaller, to be quite honest. I'd love it if it was just a bit shorter than the upcoming iGear Vanbots, but that's probably a pipe dream.

There is talk from TFW from a few years ago by the same guy who leaks all the masterpiece info, Tcraker, about a line of "junior" masterpiece figures that were only slightly larger than deluxe figures.
He has been kinda insinuating that this guy is the first of those.
He has all but said this is gonna be in scale with mp-10.

Slightly larger than Deluxe = WIN!

Much as I admire the engineering and overall design of the CHUG Sideswipe mold there's no comparing it with a proper G1 version with what appears to be a fully licensed Lamborghini Countach alt mode so if this gets confirmed officially my Universe Sideswipe & Henkei Red Alert will be heading for ebay.
