I'll let you know once more info about MP Sideswipe emerges

Aside from the Laserbeak that comes with Soundwave Fans Toys are also planning to do more cassettes, Blaster ( a proto has been made ) & possibly Shockwave as well.

It's hard to see how Takara could improve on the Fans Toys design so I'll not be changing my plans even if they do make Soundwave.

I think I like the first prototype version more. Specially in the alt mode, the newer version doesn't look like an 80s walkman at all.

Guys, come on. All we've got is someone apparently saying they're "looking into it." What the heck does that even mean? I'm sure they've looked into Megatron, Galvatron, Shockwave, and many others, too.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I think I like the first prototype version more. Specially in the alt mode, the newer version doesn't look like an 80s walkman at all.

I see where you're coming from... but the extra details will look great on the bot mode, especially once it's coloured up.

I would take either/or version, to be quite honest.

Ooooooh Encore Fort Max would be sweet.
I never owned the original & missed out on the R.I.D version so this will be a must buy.

I'll be getting the Fans Project Soundwave but I think I'll happily double dip if Tak do release an MP version themselves.

I haven't heard anything about a Soundblaster from Fanstoys, but I wouldn't be surprised about it. You're probably right - we'll likely see one, just so they can get the most out of this mold.

Unless you're talking about Blaster? They are indeed doing that.

Soundblaster would be a logical repaint as they could also rerelease Laserbeak as Buzzsaw.

Re the two different protos I'd be happy with either as the robot mode is where I'd be keeping it for 99% of the time.

When saw this on TFW2005 I was like HELLS YEAH! G1 Sideswipe was my first TF and this almost garunteed to be a Sunstreaker repaint/retool.

Look at this pic,

Masterpiece TF's stick VERY closely to the G1 designs so unless they go for a lazy copout there is no way Sunstreaker will be made from the same mold as their body structure isn't even close to being the same.

Red Alert is a given, maybe a black G2 repaint but Sunstreaker, if done properly needs his own mold.

They continued the G1 cartoon longer in Japan - eventually, Soundwave and Blaster destroyed each other in a fight. Soundwave was rebuilt into Soundblaster, and Blaster was rebuilt as well (the name escapes me at the moment...).

As much as I love the character I was never a massive fan of the G1 toy...He just seems so gangly & odd looking that I feel the MP will just be a bigger ganglier & weird looking figure.

Blaster was renamed Twincast

Pretty poor fight they had as well in the Headmasters series...huge let down lol

Blasters Japanese name was Broadcast, later renamed Twincast.

Now that MP Lambor/Sideswipe has been announced, I guess I will have to buy MP Optimus 2.0 to get them in scale...

Oi !!! Stop ragging on Sunstreaker you nasty boys

I don't think there would be a problem with an MP Sunny if they decide to make his own mold Surely the whole point of the masterpiece line is to take the Gen 1 figure and make it more cartoon/comic accurate and "fix" any issues like Sunstreakers over long arms.

Remember Gen 1 Optimus also had long "monkey" arms down past his knees and a massive hole in his back, not to mention Gen 1 Megs huge trigger crotch . These were addressed on the MP fig and I'm sure Sunstreaker would be no different.
