Oi !!! Stop ragging on Sunstreaker you nasty boys :wink1: :lol

I don't think there would be a problem with an MP Sunny if they decide to make his own mold :pray::pray: Surely the whole point of the masterpiece line is to take the Gen 1 figure and make it more cartoon/comic accurate and "fix" any issues like Sunstreakers over long arms.

Remember Gen 1 Optimus also had long "monkey" arms down past his knees and a massive hole in his back, not to mention Gen 1 Megs huge trigger crotch :horror. These were addressed on the MP fig and I'm sure Sunstreaker would be no different.

Bob

(Runs off and hugs Gen 1 Sunny :1-1:) LOL

Just kidding! :lol

I reckon Megatron's crotch is the real reason he's never been rereleased outside Japan. Parents would complain if their kids started asking awkward questions :lol

Thanks to an unexpected windfall I now have the following en route,

iGear Starscream,Skywarp,Thundercracker & Sunstorm
iGear weapons set for Kup & Perceptor
Perfect Effect Reflector
Reprolabels for Reflector

Anyone got any suggestions for something I could use to put at the back of a Detolf shelf as a "riser" so that I can get all my Seekers and Coneheads in one case?

Lol sorry :1-1::1-1:

I always loved Sun in the cartoon & was chuffed that I had the brothers as toys but I just felt he was odd.

I do hope that if they do make a Sun MP that he does conform more to the nature of MP's & is screen & comic accurate instead of original toy

Either way I do hope they make one I'd love the brothers together again.

Blaster was renamed Twincast

Pretty poor fight they had as well in the Headmasters series...huge let down lol

Neil

Blasters Japanese name was Broadcast, later renamed Twincast.

Right, I thought it was Twincast, but couldn't remember his first Japanese name, so I thought it might have been that...

I've been meaning to get the Japanese Collection on DVD so I can finally watch this stuff.

Now that MP Lambor/Sideswipe has been announced, I guess I will have to buy MP Optimus 2.0 to get them in scale...:gah:

Assuming it's in scale with MP-10. If "in scale" means in scale to me, it won't be much larger than Classics sized. But if he's the same size as Rodimus, I think I'll probably pass. Maybe not though - wouldn't look bad with my old 20th Anniversary Prime.

Got a little bored today and decided to put some small paint application on this fella. Realized I ran out of clear coat, but here he is so far. I have a second one to display in vehicle mode, since the red on the forearms will be a GIANT piece in ambulance mode.

It looks good, those little details and color really make Rachet POP!!!

Well, I broke down and got myself a RiD Megatron. Nice figure, just not great. I'm really hoping Takara announces a nicer looking version though, but who knows? I posted a review up on my blog: https://www.collecting-toys.blogspot.com/

I don't have Ratchet yet - can you do a side-by-side pic? :)

To be honest you aren't really missing much if you don't watch them.

They are ok but nothing I'd go out of my way to watch over & over like I do with the original cartoons

Neil

Ah, that's too bad. I'd still like to see 'em, though.

Here you go, the two side by side. Actually this is the first time I have seen the standard version alongside mine as well. The differences are really apparent.

I recieved Perfect Effect's Reflector in the post this morning and have spent a bit of time fiddling around with it.

I think it is one of the best designed transforming robot toys ever made, Reflector isn't an upper tier character but this toy definitely is.

Do you guys think there's going to be a U.S. release of the MP-10? I was reading on another forum that it might not happen. People were citing Hasbro's less than stellar Christmas season and the recent layoffs. I really like the figure, but $250 is pretty pricey. The U.S. release probably wouldn't include the trailer either. I'd like to have it, but in all reality I'd probably just keep it in the box like I did with the MP-04, so a U.S. release as a retailer exclusive would probably be best for me.

Speculation either way at this point, I'm sure, but it seems like a great, updated version of the most iconic Transformer of them all would be a no-brainer for Hasbro. I'm not sure why costs would affect that specific figure being released over others.

I think they will release him in the US. Optimus Prime always sells. What I would be worried about is the cost cutting they will incorporate to make it $50 or so, toy.
I also think Takara Tomy will also re-release him many many times, so don't worry about him selling out. In any case, as the yen exchange rate is starting to fall, you can probably get him later on at a more reasonable $150ish.

That'd be good. I'd probably just get the Takara one if it was that price. The yen exchange rate is pretty crazy right now. I really like this one series of Godzilla figures that I have to import from Japan, but with the rates where they are, it's about $300 shipped for just one of them now . I can't afford very many, if any of them anymore.

Couldn't agree more D, all he needs is paint.

Yeah, I really hope Takara comes through on this. Wish they'd announce/show pictures already...

Oh yeah, yours is way nicer.

I think I'll end up going with Reprolabels, myself. I generally don't like the idea of permanently altering my figures, and getting his trademark "pulse lines" would be difficult to paint.

Still hoping for a voyager, though. Ratchet might be my favourite character on the show. I can live with the big FE Arcee but it's a real shame Ratchet was downgraded to a deluxe...

You really think so? That'd be nice... might bite at that price.

I still haven't been able to convince myself to buy Hasbro's Rodimus because of the cost-cutting, but I can't justify the price of Takara's version either, since his size isn't ideal for me... I imagine any Hasbro release of MP-10 will result in a similar stalemate.

Prime is one of two characters Hasbro gives a crap about so a US release of MP-10 without the trailer is probably inevitable, it just depends when they can find a suitable window to fit it into their schedule.

I initially had TRU Rodimus, but the quality level and fact that, well, I really don't like Rodimus very much despite him being an old school Transformer led to me returning him to the store. I would accept some QC flaws with that Prime if we got him for around $70 in a U.S. release. But I'm not willing to pay $200+ for him, either.

Yeah, I had Rodimus in my hands, but I couldn't bring myself to take him up to the register. He looked cheap. On the other hand, the U.S. Grimlock was pretty awesome in my opinion. He didn't come with his serving tray and apron, and although they're pretty funny accessories, they just stayed in the Takara release's box in the end.
