Yeah, I was surprised they still had some left. I had picked up one for Skiman the week before at around $20 or so, but when I went back to get one for myself it was marked down even lower.

Where's the best place to get Takara TF Prime toys?

BigBadToyStore.com is a well respected seller and seems to have prices comparable to those of other sellers located in the U.S. I think you can get them a little cheaper from Japanese sellers like 1999.co.jp, but with shipping it might be a wash.

I always loved Sun in the cartoon & was chuffed that I had the brothers as toys but I just felt he was odd.

I do hope that if they do make a Sun MP that he does conform more to the nature of MP's & is screen & comic accurate instead of original toy

Either way I do hope they make one I'd love the brothers together again.

I recieved Perfect Effect's Reflector in the post this morning and have spent a bit of time fiddling around with it.

I think it is one of the best designed transforming robot toys ever made, Reflector isn't an upper tier character but this toy definitely is.

Nice pick up matey. I've got to say I love this set. Full of character and although the transformation is very simple the way all the individual bits store is so well done it really makes the set.

When you get your last 2 Herc bots they display fantastically together

I was an MP only collector for a long time & then suddenly the Hot Toys started appearing more regularly on forums I frequent & I thought they looked good.
So I got a few & started neglecting the MP's (Only got upto Rodimus & haven't bought any of the ones that have followed since) but if the MP's started appearing more frequently & with the rest of the cars I'd give up with HT totally & probably sell up everything to get them all.

Yes I was in the same boat. Only used to collect G1 reissues and MP. But after the encore hiatus and the many recolors of the MP toys, I started growing apart from Transformers and got into Hot Toys instead.
Now Takara seams to endorse MP and Encore line more, which means more money to them, as long as QC doesn't fall too low.

I initially had TRU Rodimus, but the quality level and fact that, well, I really don't like Rodimus very much despite him being an old school Transformer led to me returning him to the store. I would accept some QC flaws with that Prime if we got him for around $70 in a U.S. release. But I'm not willing to pay $200+ for him, either.

I actually really like Hot Rod as a character, but Rodimus, ehhh. He's alright, as a temporary leader I suppose.

My main problem with him is the size. I suppose he looks good with MP-10, but I'd want to display him with the '86 crew. MP-10 can get away with being displayed with Classics-sized Autobots I think (I use Faith Leader so I'm not 100% on that), but I'm not sold on Rodimus being able to. Anyone got any pics? It'd be great if he looked good with Generations Kup and the others...

Yeah, I had Rodimus in my hands, but I couldn't bring myself to take him up to the register. He looked cheap. On the other hand, the U.S. Grimlock was pretty awesome in my opinion. He didn't come with his serving tray and apron, and although they're pretty funny accessories, they just stayed in the Takara release's box in the end.

Yeah, the Hasbro Grimlock is just about perfect. Only minor differences with the Takara version, from what I hear - certainly not enough to justify an import.

The current ones? Walmart, I suppose. It'd be cheapest.

If you're interested in the FE stuff, I think Ebay's your only bet at this point...

I've got no complaints about U.S. Grimlock, either. Or Starscream or Skywarp, for that matter, now that I'm thinking about it.

Starscream and Skywarp are fine, but I've been eyeing MP-11 for a while now... I wonder if it'll get a US release?

It's one of those that I found I liked even more than I expected to once I'd seen how well everything fits together.

When I was attaching all the weapons and things for the first time I couldn't find the wrist guards straight away and then had a great little moment when I discovered they were incorporated into the camera lens....which can also hold two of the guns inside it!

My last 2 Herc bots should be with me in April but I've got 4 iGear Seekers and the weapons set for Kup & Perceptor on the way in the meantime

That is exactly what happened to me.

I have no interest in anything other than G1 so Hasbro's current run of TF's leaves me utterly cold & is my reason for bracnhing out into other collectables so Hot Toys had me totally hooked but once the new MP's & 3rd Party Soundwave & Blaster hit I expect I'll totally fall in love with TF's all over again.

They will always be my first love.
