Just got an update on my optimus tru preorder that it is located in stock so it seems like its going to ship. I'm sure some of you have as well.

Yup, after that update they sent another "update" saying it's delayed.

Yep got that delay as well i just got it today, also it gave me till 23rd then automatic cancellation after that. Wow tru wow.

My updated season 1 display,

When Gears arrives I'll probably just have Huffer displayed on my computer desk as he's the only one that doesn't really fit properly....I hope iGear make a bigger one at some point.

If MP Sunstreaker, Prowl & Blustreak also happen then I'll have to start a second season 1 shelf and swap things round a bit more.

And that's before I even consider where to put my Wreckers and characters from series 3 & 4.....

Aside from a few parts on Ratchet being colored white instead of black I think the only way the robot modes for the PP05 pair could be improved is if the panel didn't stick up behind their heads and the arm kibble could be redistributed somewhere. That way the robot mode would be as "clean" as the G1 animation model.

I am very critical of the official toys at times but I cannot fault Takara for Sidswipe, it's an incredible piece of work and like Silent Bob I'm even more excited for MP Sunstreaker now!

Quick question, any idea why the Japanese ver of mp10 is more expensive than the more accurate and better paint toysrus mp10?

They are fetching more than the toysrus ones on eBay currently.

Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of getting an Optimus to go with my Soundwave later on this year. There's a takara version in my local toy store that are asking around $200, and a toysrus ver would come around roughly the same price if I bought one from US.

So figure wise, the toysrus is better? Reason I ask is because normally the takara issued transformers are always superior compared to the hasbro ones

I've just been chatting with a guy at TFW who seems to be well connected as he's told me a bit of other news in the past that turned out to be legit.

So I'm not going to get too carried away with his latest info in case plans change for some reason but it looks like Takara's new direction for the Masterpiece line is a long term thing as plans for 2014 releases are already in place.

If he's right two more new MP molds that have already been rumored will follow after Nemesis Prime in 2013, one of which can be repainted & partially retooled at least twice.

A v2 of Megatron is thought to be one of several new Masterpieces in the works along with,

Prowl
( Easy repaint potential and Takara already has a good working relationship with Nissan so licensing the alt mode will be no problem. )

Galvatron
( A no brainer to go with Rodimus. )

Ultra Magnus
( White repaint of MP10 with armor/trailer. )

Sunstreaker
( A Takara designer has acknowledged that the character should have his own mold and transformation and they have the Lamborghini license for 2 years so it seems very likely. )

If you don't really like the eyes on the Takara version you could unscrew the head on it and repaint the eyes a light blue/baby blue and it would greatly improve the look of that version.

I'd get all of those except for Prowl and Sunstreaker

I think Prowl is a more desirable character then Sideswipe IMO, i'd get MP Prowl before him.

MP10 is a bit taller than Faith Leader so the vans won't be the quite the same height in comparison to Prime but should still look good.

I assume that info came from the various "insiders" at TFW. I'm not casting doubt on their connections or anything, but even insiders can be mistaken, or even more likely... things change.
