I don't think I'll have to part out the HT collection as I'll start getting rid of my Beast Wars stuff first & that should at least make a dent in the cost of the new figures.

Yeah Im still on the hook about Red Alert myself. If he comes stateside hes a def purchase but I really dont wanna pay $90 for him. Holding off on Igears minibots atm,I could see HasTak making some of these guys.

I don't know... in MP form? I think they're pretty far down the line. Maybe Bumblebee and Cliffjumper, if they can somehow get past the licensing issue with VW/Porsche. All the others are probably too obscure for the MP line.

I really wanted ramjet and almost bought him but knew Id have to get the other 2 coneheads and that was just too much $$$ for me then. I think Ill be happy finally when/if we see MP11 mold Skywarp.

It's funny that people either seem to love Ramjet or Thrust. No love for Dirge?

I keep going back and forth about them. They're pretty awesome to have, I have to admit... Once we get MP Megatron, Shockwave, and Skywarp in the line, they'll really fill out the display. With only Starscream, Thundercracker and soon Soundwave on the shelf, they kind of look out of place.

I don't want to sell them only to regret it later, that's for sure.

I hear ya,Ive been collecting HT since 2010 and I think Im gonna quit them soon. Way to pricey and these boxes are eating up too much of my space!lol I could see myself buying a marvel character every now and then but Id like to focus on just Transformers Masterpiece figures. My savings account agrees.

Yup. The steady price increase is just too much to keep up with right now.

Same goes for the Sideshow GI Joes. I love them, and continue to collect them for the time being, but if they start getting into the $200s, I will have to seriously reassess. As is, I've started becoming more picky about which ones to get (e.g. no non-RAH characters or army-builders, no second versions like Snake Eyes, etc.).

I had to pass on the exclusive Crimson Guard for money reasons, too, but plan on picking him up at some point down the road. Maybe I can trade for him, who knows...

It'd be really sad if I had to stop collecting the Sideshow Joes, because that's all I'm really getting at this point... These days, almost all my posts as Sideshow Freaks are in this thread!!!

Yeah it is a good one & one I'll always cherish.
It's actually the reason Soundwave became my fave TF & the reason he's my screen name...kind of a homage to my Nan (we were really close when I was little)

I never expected this kind of situation with Soundwave either but he's so worth it.

I actually got the original Ravage & Rumble 2 pack when I was in hospital before I ever got Soundwave
I was in a hospital near Hamleys getting some grommits fitted in my ears (I'm partially deaf) & when I came round from the op my parents had bought them for me.
I still remember opening them & transforming them for the first time & I remember the spring from Rumbles neck pinging out & sending his head halfway down my bed

You'll be amazed by the TF's we didn't see in the UK back in the day...

Hasbro have clearly been selling the UK short when it comes to distribution since day one, maybe they have an issue with us because of the Civil War ( not the Marvel one ) or something

We did get Jetfire though, I remember it being in an Argos catalogue....of all the stuff in my head I can remember pointless trivia instantly but often have trouble remembering what I did an hour ago

It was only a response to being asked what character he'd like to make if he could pick anyone so it never got past the concept stage but Takara might decide to counter the iGear Mini Warriors and a bigger Huffer would be a decent way of starting.

Yep that's actually one of the reasons I went for Soundwave on my leg as well.
The money that's paying for the Tattoo's was left to me when my other nan passed away in 2009 so I decided I would use it to honour them both & Prime is for that nan & Soundwave for my other nan

Ah I never knew that...I do remember seeing one kid playing with a Jetfire when I was at the Ear Nose & Throat in hospital in London for one of my check ups & being totally jealous that he had one.
I made do with a Macross Valkeryie that one of my little toy shops had managed to get in to be my Jetfire as a kid

Lol you'd be surprised how much inane crap I can remember but anything important like remembering to pick up baby formula or nappies goes totally out of my head

Damn I totally forgot about Perceptor & Reflector you are right we never saw them either.

I'd have loved a Perceptor as a kid & I keep meaning to pick up either the Takara or TRU re-issue just so I can say I have owned him

We didn't see the deluxe Insecticons either (Barrage / Chop Shop / Ransack / Venom)

We actually missed out on a lot back in the day

I see two things happening here,

1.Takara respond and squash Fans Toys a 2nd time.
( Shockwave is already on their radar as they did that practical joke in response to some of the speculation about the initial blacked out image of Soundwave. )

2.Fans Toys manage to get this one released.

Either way, G1 fans win.

Not to detract from the awesomeness of that Shockwave, but wasn't it rumored a while ago that HasTak was considering a Galvatron for the MP line as well?
If either Shockwave or Galvie get MPs it'll be my first purchase from this line.

Galvatron is one of several new molds thought to be in development.

A dubious looking mockup of Shockwave that fit into the outline of Soundwave was shown on a screen at a Japanese toy show as a humorous dig at the people who thought the outline of Soundwave was actually Shocky.

After Soundwave's tapes and the black MP10 repaint I think the next couple of years of Masterpieces will consist of,

Wow... Yeah, that looks better than I expected. I will no doubt be purchasing.

And if Takara beats them to the punch, well, I'd feel extra sorry for Fanstoys, but that's life I guess. I'm sure they were aware of the risk, especially after the Soundwave thing. For all we know, Shockwave isn't on Takara's radar anyway. They didn't own the design to the original figure, right? An MP version might be a problem for them, who knows?

It's funny - TFW2005 has been listed under "games" here, which is why I can't see it. Kind of sucks. I'm probably into TFs more than anything else right now, and there's a fair bit of downtime at work...

I'd say that list is probably accurate. They might throw us a surprise or two but this is pretty much exactly what I'm thinking.

I would add maybe a "real" Hot Rod, too - sized more like MP Sideswipe. 09 works well as Rodimus Prime but he's way too big for Hot Rod, and Hot Rod seems to be a very popular figure in Japan...
