Shockwave looks awesome but not sure he's a must buy for me.

I liked the character but not enough to splurge huge amounts on a MP scale figure.

In other non MP related news I had a bit of good news at work today...

I'm due a Chrimbo bonus of £300 in my December pay packet

So now the dilema is...

Get the Coneheads
Buy Ratchet & Ironhide & pre-order the new minibots
Get the tape packs, Red Alert & pick up MP11 to replace my MP3 Starscream (Walmart version)
Maketoys Giant
Fansproject Assualter & Defender

Why is there suddenly so much choice???

Soundwave's tapes seem an obvious first choice for you although as DPrime says they aren't likely to rise in price until a few months after they're actually out so there's no immediate rush to get them pre-ordered....I'm waiting until Christmas is out the way.

So I'd prioritise Ironhide & Ratchet and the Coneheads before prices start to get too mental and if I had to make a decision between the two I'd go with the Autobots due to their being more prominent characters and also because the PP05 mold is presently the best 3rd party Transformer available.

City Commander was a landmark at the time of release, TFC's Hercules and MakeToys Giant have raised the bar for combiners but iGear trumped all that and delivered the first decent toys of G1 Ironhide & Ratchet EVER and did so in such a fashion that there's very little that Takara could do to better them aside from minor cosmetic issues.

I know you didn't see Faith Leader in the same way as I do but PP05 is actually fun to transform ( aside from one slightly scary bit ) and there's so many different options for displaying them as each one is packed with extra stuff.

I wouldn't be at all suprised if they went up a bit more, look how scarce Faith Leader has become....so I may hang onto them a bit longer

FT-03 looks okay but coulda been so much better, the legs ruin it.

You know, I went and took a look at the original toy and cartoon models on TFWiki.net - the back of the gun is pretty nondescript. I don't think this is really an issue, personally...

I think that a lot of the people I've read that are whining about the legs would be swinging off Takara's **** if that Shockwave was an official product.

But because it's from one of the "evil" 3rd parties every little thing gets overanalysed to the nth degree and used to bash it and the white knights of the TF community are once again cheering on Takara to "take them down".....which is getting a bit old.

I don't care who makes what, as long it's decent quality.

I would probably skip the Coneheads for now... the price has already gone up, so there's probably no harm in waiting for a little while yet.

And the new stuff, like the iGear Minibots, tape packs, and Red Alert should be available for a while near the original price. Ditto Assaulter, Giant, and Ratchet too, maybe.

Ironhide, MP-11 Starscream, and FP Defender have been out just long enough that the prices might start creeping up very soon. They have a bit already, but not so much that you'll pay an arm and a leg - but you might soon.

I know Ratchet came out at the same time as Ironhide but he doesn't seem to be quite as popular - he's still available on iGear's website, after all.

I swear I'm not being biased in this assessment - or at least, I'm trying not to be - but if you want a FP Warbot Defender, PM me.

I hear what you are saying about the iGear stuff...I have seen that Ratchet & Ironhide are starting to creep up on Ebay.

However I have seen that iGear still have the pair on their site for $240 shipped which isn't too bad.

I don't dislike PP01 he is pretty bloody amazing TBH but I think mine is a little weak as he's prone to alot of problems...I bought him from an Ebay seller on the basis that he was new but I'm not sure he was so that has dulled the experience slightly as he's a bit wobbly but once set up he is the best rendition of Prime I have ever owned.

I'm really tempted to update my MP03 & get hold of MP11 but then I think that will be slippery slope as I'll need to replace my Thundercracker & Skywarp as well (although the iGear versions could take up the slack there I guess)

I'm seriosuly going to have to spend some time thinking this through...they all look so awesome it's so hard to choose.

I opened and transformed MP Sideswipe tonight. He is a really great little figure. Looks perfect in both bot and vehicle mode. More impressive in-hand than in pics IMO.
