I think where he was coming from wasn't about choices, but the fact that third party toys are at a naturally higher price point and to get decent classics-styled figures nowadays, that's pretty much what you've GOTTA' pay.
... until that United RatBat comes out!
Yeah, I guess it's the nature of collecting modern toys. Official lines rarely seem "finished" anymore.
At least we have the option, though.
Right on.
What i was trying to say is that the way Hasbro has handled Transformers the last couple years has been brutal...
If all you want are Classics-style toys, it's always been brutal. The CHUG stuff always played second fiddle to the main line of the time.
Personally, I like the Prime and Kreo stuff. Well, the Kreons, anyway. The builds aren't exactly Lego-quality yet, but it is a construction brick line, so you can pretty much make them how you want. I'm REALLY looking forward to the GI Joe ones.
Prime can be hit or miss, but the better figures are some of the BEST Transformers ever mind, imo. Quite possibly the best combination of screen accurate designs and articulation ever, with the exception of the Masterpiece line (but that's a bit price difference, of course).
Nice set up, man. Some of the Classics figures still mesh in nicely with Masterpieces. United Jazz and Henkei Hound are two figures I'm likely to keep to mix in with the others as well.
Henkei Sunstreaker looks pretty decent with MP Sideswipe, too. A bit on the short side but still doable.
