I heard the Rumor of Megatron being MP 20 aswell....(and in correct Scale)
I don't know if it's so much rumor as it is speculation... but it's reasonable speculation. No doubt MP-20 SHOULD be some kind of major release... whether it's Ultra Magnus or Megatron is the big question. I suppose it could also be Galvatron - but I heavily suspect it will be one of the heavy hitters.
DPrime, I think you're wrong about Sunstreaker. He is a must have, especially with him and Sideswipe side by side.
Yeah, the fact that we have Sideswipe makes him a necessary addition, and like I said, he's a favourite of mine. But if only a limited number of MP cars had to be made, for some reason, I'd rather the more prominent characters get done, that's all. Sunstreaker's barely in the show at all compared to guys like Bumblebee, Jazz, Ironhide and Ratchet.
That said, I watched TF:TM again over the weekend. That scene with Prime asking Megatron to beg for is life was something that I've always questioned as a kid. I always thought Optimus would never do that when weighted against what I watched from the cartoon.
I've been thinking about that scene as well. I don't believe he was asking Megatron to beg for his life, mind you... but it did seem like he himself was contemplating pulling the trigger. Didn't he say something to that effect a bit earlier?
I can't remember... I'm googling quotes right now. Heh, I do see that Kup clearly wants Prime to kill Megatron.
Anyway, clearly, the audience is meant to wonder - has it actually come to this? Will he do it? The answer is left ambiguous, because he never gets the chance. We WANT to believe he won't... or do we?
"you who are without mercy, now beg for it? I thought you were made of sterner stuff" Is not making megatron Beg for his life.
Yes, this is how I heard it as well. However, it does hint that Prime's at least considering killing him, I think.
There seems to be an internal struggle going on.
I think Acid Storm is a mistake for mass retail due to his not being a major character and would have been better as a more limited release for the Japanese market.

If TRU/Hasbro think people are going to go gaga over this nobody like they did for Prime and Soundwave, they're nuts.
And of course if it does fail, they'll just say "oh well, I guess people don't like Masterpiece Transformers at ALL!"
Sunstreaker also had 2 repaints from the Diaclone days, a red one and a police version which in real world terms is about as bonkers as Red Alert being a fire chief car but it looks a cool toy.

Hound only has 1, an eHobby Junkion character named Detritus.
All the main G1 tapes got repainted a few times for eHobby sets as well so there's a LOT of potential for knocking out variants to get some more use from the molds and help fund more new licenses and things.
Problem is these are all kind of obscure... except maybe Stepper, since we're talking about the Japanese market after all.
Not saying ones without an original '84/'85 character repaint won't get done, though.
worst case scenario, i'm fine with them fudging Jazz, Bee and cliffjumper too as far as the altmodes go. i couldn't give two ****s about licensed altmodes, so long as the bot mode looks correct.
Worst case scenario, some third party will do them. No biggie.
Bee and Cliff would look fine "fudged", as their original alt modes and cartoon models were anyway. Jazz has to look the part to look right, imo - but there's no reason iGear or FansToys can't do it.
