I don't think it's Grimlock that's the problem, MP10 was made too big
But shouldn't Prime pretty much be looked at as the center of scaling, since it's blatant that they've been making MPs scaled around him since?

Yep. Absolutely.
If they were going to do a soft reboot of the line, it made sense to do it with Prime. But I think they also had to take into account the MP-03 mold too. It was much cheaper to salvage and modify their earlier prototype than to rescale it completely. Better to have 1 MP relatively out of scale (Grimlock and excluding MP-01 and 05) than the 3 seekers (plus potential repaints) which would potentially make up a huge portion of the MP line.

Fair enough, I don't display my Autobots and Decepticons together so it's not as much of an issue.
I may even sell Faith Leader and just have Grimlock lead my Autobots as I really don't need a Prime in my collection any more.

What you're saying is true enough, I just happen to be one of the few people in the fandom that's sick of Prime and the way every toy line has to revolve around him.

It's not Prowl's pose, it's clearly the presence of Bayformers in the background that's lowering the tone.

There are a few threads floating around over at tfw2005.com that have pics of masterpiece next to G1 figures. Im not sure exactly what you mean when you say if the size of the MP series fits G1. Are you asking if they would look good together in a mixed MP/G1 display?
I had lost interest in collecting TFs and just wanted to get rid of them. I paid off some debt, took the family on vacation and got into 1/6. But my interest in 1/6 fizzled fast. I always go back to TFs no matter how much time off I take. A part of me wishes I just rode it out and let them sit on their shelves but I don't kill myself over it because I used the money for good things.

Yeah, I think it's just the awkward "plonked" pose in that shot.
I actually think it's a great way to promote the MP figs. Putting them in front of those Bayformers really helps show off the awesome

My advice would be to get one as soon as you're able as prices have recently shot up as there's not going to be another production run.

Those two HA movie figs are there to show scale for those like me who don't own Sideswipe and were curious as to how big the new MPs are.
Didn't realize the new MPs were that tiny.
Heaven forbid anyone to come in here who actually likes the movies and their figures.

No doubt G1 is above all but those Human Alliance figs are some of the best put of for the movie lines IMO some great paint apps and transformations. Wish they would've made Topsin into an HA figure to have all the movie wreckers all together.

In a way Bay has helped MP by keeping the money flowing. Too bad he never had a knack for design.
Just got mine yesterday! Though it was a total surprise because I thought Automaton was going to ship this together with some other stuff later on.
Love the engineering that went into Ravage! I will say that Spike looks a tad out of scale though when placed side by side with Frenzy err... Rumble.

Finally got myself a budget JVC GZ-E205 Full HD camcorder! Here's the first camera test - now I can actually get some decent focus in closeups!!!
Done in some dim lighting (it is my home theatre after all!), so will try some more in nice natural light for better results.

You won't get an argument out of me in regards to the movies. I've done enough over at other TF forums before I was ever a board member here.
But I could just as easily make fun of the cartoon (though I love it) just as you all continue to do of the movies. Unlike many of you, my love for transformers isn't only for G1
