I'm not a huge TV watcher just because it's all mostly the same stuff. There's only 3 shows now that I actually get excited to watch and make sure I'm home when they're on. Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Almost Human. Yeah, the plots have been done a bunch on other cop shows but I really enjoy it for the kennex/Dorian banter. The show is hilarious despite being a serious sci-fi cop show.

There's enough of a spin on this show that it's interesting to me. It adds an interesting element to a tired formula. The actors are great in their roles as well.

Kennex and Dorian seem like they should be so serious and one-dimensional but they're some of the most fun characters on tv. And last night's episode was the best example of that yet with Dorian's malfunctioning personality. :D

They're totally the whole show, because, like I said, the plots are stuff we've all seen a million times before, and the supporting cast is as bland and one-dimensional as they could possibly be apart from the guy that works on the robots who's your typical Ed Norton/Kramer "wacky neighbor" type. On paper this show looks like a total pass, but Kennex and Dorian's chemistry is so strong it overcomes all of that. If the show gets picked up for a second season, it's totally on those two actors and they deserve every ounce of the credit.

I agree for the most part, but the cyberpunk elements aren't something we've really seen this fully-realized in a live-action tv series before (at least not one I've found worth watching), so even familiar plots have that twist to them and it usually causes the plot to be resolved in a new and unexpected way. Kennex and Dorian absolutely carry it, and I'm with you on every element you pointed out as lacking, but the setting and visual flair aren't too shabby so I'd give them a bit of credit too. That said, it would be very underwhelming and boring if the the characters weren't so fun. I didn't make it past the first few minutes of that SyFy show "Continuum", I guess it'd basically be that.

He is the pirate with the wooden eyeball in Pirates of the Caribbean.

I want to like this show, so am giving it another shot now. I just don't like these cop drama shows, it's never been my thang. I am a big fan of Karl Urban.

I dunno, I can't say I've seen any shows where the main character stabs himself in the leg to impress a kid or talks to his partner about his robotic dong. The comedy adds so much to it.

New show on last night. Still enjoying it. Really liked the bad *** woman robot.

Gina Carano. It's a shame she can't act, I would've liked more interaction between her and Dorian, but it's obvious they didn't trust her with dialogue. Always bad *** in a fight scene though.

I didn't even notice, was that Carano's head the bot was after?

I don't know her. Was she in anything memorable?

She starred in a Steven Soderbergh flick called Haywire. It's not amazing by any means, but it's got an excellent cast and worth a watch if you want to see her kick some serious ***. She also had a bit part in Fast and Furious 6. Couple of good fight scenes there, but like Almost Human, very little dialogue.

Yes.

Crush from the gladiators reboot.

...and once upon a time she used to beat up other ladies in a steel cage. :yess:

But then she became an actress... :lol

I've only recently started watching this and so far, I'm liking it. Just wish that they weren't trying to make Kennex and Stahl hook up. The show doesn't need romance.
