I will not support the Buck Anymore. I will not by ANY figures they use it for. It's a POS body end of story. After you pose some Medicom And HT figures and then touch a buck it just feels like ^^^^.

They need to get the PRO out there NOW! And i hope other freaks let SS know that they will not buy anymore figures that are on that POS body regardless of character choice. (too many freaks just buy anyway)

I am not seeing this. There are few poses that the HT and Medicom figures can perform that the buck can't. And the buck doesn't break like Medicom's and Hot Toys' mannequins do. I just don't see the reason to hate on the Buck. I prefer the Prometheus, judging only by the pics. But it remains to be seen if it is a better mannequin. If it is as durable as the buck, cool. If it is as durable as the Medi and HT mannequins...then I am for leaving the figures on the Buck.

Sideshow DOES need to do something about the boots hindering the ankle articulation, though.

I personally didnt like ANH Luke. I love the costume and all that, but I didnt like the face sculpt as much as others did. Imo its a little on the long side, plus the paints are horrible, green hair? Plus I agree with the price hike, specially if you are from California, (add on the tax). Sold it on ebay a couple of days ago.

I totally disagree!

The buck just don't look natural when posed next to figures with better bodies plain and simple.

Thats a big part of a good body. (looking natural) The jedi figs are lucky with all the robes and clothing otherwise they look like crap. (aka jedi luke in just his black jumpsuit, seen jedi luke on a HT TT body? looks tons better and more natural if a bit little taller)

Medicom has the best body IMO (just the most fragile) I've never had a HT body break on me.

DEATH TO THE BUCK!

DEATH TO THE BUCK!

I have seen the pics of the SS Luke and many other figures on the HT bodies. I have seen the HT bodies in pose-offs with the Buck. And in nearly every case, it was obvious that the people making the comparisons were pushing toward the non-Buck body by doing things like posing the HT body without boots and posing the Sideshow body with the boots. But after doing the side-by-side on my own table, the difference was MUCH smaller. A bigger difference was how the mannequin filled out the costume. And even that didn't bother me much where the Buck was concerned.

And then, when I add on the durability of the mannequins, which is a large issue for me, the Buck wins out.

Don't get me wrong. HT DOES have better articulation. But not as much better as the hype insists. And when the articulation is so close, and the way the mannequin fills out the costume is just icing to me, the durability
pulls the Buck to the top of the pack for me.

Now, when I see that the Prometheus has the (slightly) improved articulation, has the added icing of filling out the costume better, AND is as durable as the Buck...I will be a Prometheus fan for life and I will turn on the Buck like a trusted pitbull.

I've been trying to get the poncho on Luke but the hole seems entirely too small to slip over his head. Am I missing something?

Mine arrived today.

I am floored. It's beautiful!!!!!!!

I can't decide if this or Jedi Luke is my favourite.

There are NO flaws with my paint job at all and I'm happy with these figures on the Buck. Consistency!!!

I was able to recreate the pose that I wanted perfectly :-

'It's your Father's Lightsaber'

I got some hands, feet, boots, shoes, robes and a few other items from an ebay auction. I really found a couple of gems in the lot. I found a Chancellor Palpatine hand that I lost. I found an extra ANH Obi-Wan Kenobi "contemplating" hand so now I can do a "mirror image" shot of ANH and EIII Obi-Wans. And I also found a hand that is better sculpted to hold a non-pistol-grip rifle in an off-hand position. I also want to note the position of Luke's feet. Slightly bent, but flat on the ground. The short footwear allows the range of motion that the ankle articulation provides for.

Well, Luke finally made it all the way down here.
Not sure why it took so damn long this time around...

Anyway, it's a really nice figure, I haven't had time to explore it fully yet (at the office), but it didn't immediately wow me like other figures.

I am very surprised at just how stern the expression is. For once, I think I'll look into ways to make a Sideshow figure look less determined...

Still waiting on this one (and ANH Han as well):monkey2... What's up with my Canadian supplier?... Are they the last ones on the planet getting these???

:banghead (nice pics by the way)

Had a little bit more time to futz and play. Luke's a really nice figure and poses well along with Old Ben and Han. My main nitpicks are the materials used for the kimono thingie and the poncho, but especially the poncho, they're way too stiff making it difficult to have them drape and move naturally. Water-treatment helps a lot, but they're still very stiff. Also, the stern expression. I'll have to look into how that can be improved a bit. All in all, not as cool as Han.

Finally collected my ANH Luke yesterday after quite a long wait.

I thought the tiny plastic piece to hold the Droid Caller is a such a design flaw.

How can anyone fit the Droid Caller onto the belt without damaging that tiny piece of plastic. Even being warned in advance here at this forum, I still couldn't help but partially broke that plastic.

Other than this issue, I felt this is the best 1/6th scale Luke.

I agree, that peg is way too flimsy. I got the droid caller on without breaking it, but one careless moment while posing him and I bet it would snap like a dry twig.

Yeah, mine snapped off like it wasn't even firmly attached to the belt.

But I quickly received a replacement belt. I didn't have to send back the WHOLE figure like I thought.

Funny thing... I broke that replacement one. as well.

But not on the Droid Caller pin, mind you. After I successfully attached the Droid Caller, I went to place the belt on the figure and the pin behind the belt buckle bent. Not by much, but enough to weaken it for the long haul. Fearing that it would snap off in time, I shamefully asked Sideshow for yet another belt replacement.

I'm happy to say that Sideshow did provide me with another belt.... however they did stipulate that it would be the last belt they would send me. And third times a charm... both pins are doing nicely on my figure. :D
