Wouldn't it be cool if Sideshow just went ahead and got all of the Lukes out of the way right now. They only have 7 or so left to do after ANH. Lets see...there is X-Wing Pilot, Dagobah, Hoth, Snowspeeder Pilot, Hospital, Stormtrooper, Endor...I think that is it.

No wait...there is the Expanded Universe also...so there is Dark Side Luke, Luke in the Red Guard armor from SOTE, they could throw in a "Smuggler Luke just because it would be cool.

Help me out EU fans...list some more Lukes!

I really have no problem with getting another Luke, particularly Tatooine Luke, at this time. Sure, I'm waiting for other core characters like the rest of you, but this rendition of Luke NEEDED to be released asap. In my opinion, he should have been the first one out of the gate.

I passed on Yavin Luke but now will have a Luke representative for each of the films. (not counting newborn Luke from Episode 3...)

We now desparately need Vader, Chewie, the two droids and no questions asked...

since i just got home from work and read the newsletter.... this is crap. can't sideshow do anything else than rehash the same characters for star wars???

I hear you man. This is now the FOURTH Luke we've gotten in the 1/6 scale line. What's with the rehashes SS? If I want to display Luke staring at the twin suns, well that's what Yavin Luke is for. If I want him as he appeared in the cantina, HELLO, Bespin Luke anyone? Which leaves us with Jedi Luke, you know, for all those scenes where he's racing around the Death Star with Han and Leia. I'm sick of these rehashes too.

Whoa scale it back a bit there. Take off Dagobah, Hospital, and Endor. You already have Dagobah if you take his jacket off. Who cares about the Hospital version. And Endor Luke is not much different than what we already have. They could release an accessory pack that has his camouflage, helmet, and the broken tip of that Speeder Bike he cut off.

If Sideshow did an Endor Luke he would need a new headsculpt since there is no way his noggin would fit in one of those helmets (unless it gigantoricized like Hasbros).

You already have Dagobah if you take his jacket off.

You really don't. In order to have a proper Dagobah the hair has to be sweaty and the clothes soiled and dirty. Not to mention you need to have the Yoda backpack and a couple of other neat X-Wing accessories that just wouldn't be included in even an X-Wing Pilot Luke

Who cares about the Hospital version.

I'd say its a warranted release of course further down the line not to mention it'd be neat if they offered a Bacta Tank accessory that could fit him in there and have the "Huggies" underneath the clothing. Not a needed release but definitely a good one and if no Bacta Tank then I'd love an arm attachment with the panels open and electronics visible...

And Endor Luke is not much different than what we already have. They could release an accessory pack that has his camouflage, helmet, and the broken tip of that Speeder Bike he cut off.

Endor Luke needs to be released, the facial sculpt is all wrong for that dress in the DSII/Carkoon Luke released not to mention many people only have one of these imagine the complaining and griping if they had to hunt down another Luke just to have this version. Also the helmet would be better done sculpted onto the head it was supposed to go on instead of getting something generic that may or may not fit Luke's head properly once in production. This is a great version of Luke that needs to be released, if not it'd be like if they released an Endor Leia and then released an Ewok Dress accessory kit because "they are practically the same"

What I will say is that even though these Luke releases are warranted they are not immediately needed. The only Lukes I could understand coming at this point would be the Stormtrooper Disguise (which most likely will be a Con Exclusive or something along those lines once the Stormtrooper is released) and the X-Wing Pilot but they definitely could do some sideline waiting even though.

Yup, an Endor Luke would be produced to only be Endor Luke with hat hair and everything to facilitate the helmet like the Endor Troops. Han's the only Endor where an accessory pack would be enough, hell if the did a ROTJ Han, you could just include his jacket as an item and just make it ROTJ Han, there's not much to give that incarnation of him. I do hope to see ROTJ Han too, because, while not as extreme as Hammil, Ford's appearance does vary from ANH to ROTJ, age shows.

I'm excited about this new "A New Hope" Luke. I just hope that Sideshow will capture Mark Hamill's likeness better than Kenner/Hasbro. I got the last "A New Hope" Luke from their "Original Trilogy" 12 inch figure line, and the headsculpt was horrible! Luke looked like a "happy Ken doll" to me! Mark Hamill's likeness seems to be really hard to capture in the 1/6 scale for some reason. Anyone else notice that?

I think Sideshow's "Bespin" Luke looks much better than the Return Of The Jedi "jedi knight" Luke I have in his black outfit. I really want to repaint his eyes someday to calm him down! I swear he looks like a deer trapped in headlights!

So...I hope this time that the great sculptors at Sideshow give us a Luke worthy of our money.

I will pre-order him next Friday.

pretty complete list. but my no.1 complaint for years isn't in there:
"I want George Lucas to donate his beard so Sideshow can finally make some Chewies."

EDIT: oh wait, it's kinda covered by that last one. although i don't think my wish is an isolated one. there are many who have had the same thought.

I'm pretty excited to hear the announcement of ANH Luke and will look foward to order day and adding Luke to the collection.

I can see the others pov as well, at least this line is offering more figs than say LOTR.

Im just saying that what you want is completely unrealistic. One sculpt to represent a character that changed greatly over the course of 3 films is, IMO, ridiculous. Leia alone will always require new sculpts because of the ever changing hair. Luke will because of how drastically Mark Hamills face changed after the car accident and Harrison Ford put on a few lbs as the films went on.

i can see what you're saying. i just don't feel that every look from one character needs to be represented at this point. the line is still young and there are more wanted characters by most that haven't been seen. once the core characters were done, then variants could have been done for luke, han and leia. for example, bowen has released many many characters and have gone back to make variants down the road. and i can't understand why a lot of people don't feel like a chewbacca, droid, or vader is needed ahead of a fourth look luke. people that collect this line have had to buy customs, more expensive figures from another company, or a less quality figure just to have those core characters. just doesn't make sense to me. and i'm not just a buy a figure here and there, i own every exclusive in the entire line. and chewy, droids or vader are figures i would like to own, or i will feel the collection will never be complete. just sayin'
