Any love for the Toybiz line???

Search around, especially on ebay. Mine was still in the 2001 Toy Biz retail shipping box with these big cardboard inserts inside (which employees would take out obviously). So I lucked out there. It didn't even look like it saw the light of day.

i missed out on the Moria Orc...so that one to me is sort of a grail!!

There are some really great figures from this line,so you cannot really go wrong with any of them, especially towards the end of the line..

Help me out Maglor (or anyone that knows what I'm talking about). There was this toy photo archive just like tgd.com that had all of the pictures/information that tgd had. Now I'm hell bent on finding it because I used to use it for my collection. They had just about every figure, horse/rider, beast set, deluxe and role play item you could have.

I've tried toyvault, toy this, toy that but it isn't coming up on google. It had all of the Toy Biz line and other merchandise as well.

Found it. :(

It's gone too. Man, that's a shame.

All the work that must have went into the archive, all that information, all the prototypes, gone. Pity because it wasn't small, it had every figure, shots MOC, loose, different views everything.

This is the problem with the internet. At some point, when interest dried up after the movies were long gone from the theaters, the website was taken down because there was no profit in keeping it up anymore. If only there was a book with all that info...

There are lots of rare Toy Biz figures that alot of people don't even know existed. Without a guide, they will never know about them.

Of course, the one way that will always be around to find out about the Toy Biz Lotr line is ebay by doing searches for the line.

Man, for some reason I'm in total LOTR mode. I went through my PC (I'm home for the Christmas season) and found Toy Biz images from atleast a decade ago. These might be the first pics of LOTR film merchandise, glad I saved them because I can't find them on google at all.

Thought I'd share them,

I was always impressed with those prototype 2-ups on the cardbacks, especially Strider and Legolas. They looked so much better than what we actually got.

That Galadriel is awesome! We didn't get it looking like that did we?

Well the figure for the most part looks about the same (that looks like an early prototype without Cate Blanchett's likeness).

I remember waiting for it to be released and it never was. I bet that Elf Basin had some cool action feature and that Frodo looks unique (I see the mithril shirt). Pity they never made it, I'm glad that we still got Galadriel though.

I'll have to post pics of my Toy Vault Galadriel one of these days. She comes with the Mirror.

I only have 3-4 of them left. Two of which were sent to me by a friend a long time ago with a nice note to me and my Dad.

Funny how you guys mention TheGD.com and Toy Figure Times...those were my creations...

The Green Dragon (TheGD.com) was such a soulful creation and a creation out of pure love of all things LOTR. It wasn't ended due to non-profitability...it was due simply to time and unfortunate life events.

Bottom line...I STILL HAVE all the imagery and all the databases...but getting them back on the web in a format that would be useful would be quite the undertaking.

I sincerely love reading these little tidbits about how cool it was to have and how much some folks want to have it. Problem is time, energy, and effort involved in bringing it to life again. While profitability in its truest form isn't the main factor, cost-benefit analysis must be done. If only 5-10 people REALLY and TRULY get use out of it...is it really worth the countless hours needed to bring it back?

That was really the reason it was shut down...my time is valuable to me, my family, and my real job too...so it came to a cross-roads...and something had to give! It truly saddens me...that I am no longer a contributor to such a cool community of fans, collectors, and LOTR die-hards!

I hope that one day, Geb, you'll get to a spot in your life where you'll have more time and no worries about finances, so you'll be ready to put back the treasure you have in your database back online for the community! I was one of the, I'm sure quite numerous, fellows who loved your site and dedicated work. It is missed. Thanks so much and, well, all the best for the future (see above)! :D

Well...see...by the fact that no one responded and that this thread remains domant MOST of the time...a true sign that interest in Toybiz stuff is pretty dead. There are a few who still take heed, but for the most part (at least on these boards)...the interest is so low that it would be hard to justify the development and re-launch of The Green Dragon...sad...but true.
