If a cow had sharp teeth and had the drive to eat humans, he would. So I'm just doing to him what he would do to me first. :lecture:lecture:lecture:lecture:lecture

OK, since you asked nicely... :lol:lol

Hey, Kuzeh! where do you get your food from!?..Do you grow/raise them yourself!?

I wish... I've tried a few times, but I suck as a gardener...
I'm looking into city farms though...

...that's completely condescending.

You want to know how evolution has played out in eating habits? Do you think paying hundreds of dollars for a kobe steak in an upscale restaurant at the top of a skyscraper, listening to live jazz, accompanied by a beautiful woman dressed to the nines to be equivalent to the behavior of a caveman? Just because there's meat on the plate?

That's just being pretentious... you can put all the flair and snobbery around it... it doesn't change the fact... it just makes it "socially acceptable"... rich people getting drunk with expensive wine, is no different than the hobo that gets drunk with $5.00 rum...

I'd say that at the point where food is no longer a mere neccessity but has been raised to a science of personal enjoyment on the level that modern society indulges it, charges of primitivism no longer apply. Evolution is not a denial of one's nature but an advancement of it. Humans are omnivores, and we have elevated the raw act of consumption. No other meat eating species has done the same.

Because we're humans... :duh
using the "we're the only species" is nonsense... because we're also the only species that have religions and believe in fairy tales, or the only species that kill each other for greed and money...

So, yes, there's been some evolution, mostly technologically and culturally but on basic needs... not so much...

awww, come on Kuzeh! Dish it!...don't be shy! Enlighten us cavemen, oh transcended one!:bow..........was it PETA propaganda that got to you!?

I hate PETA...

OK, That's it boys and girls...
I'm out!

I hate PETA...

This I agree with and for the record, I don't care if someone chooses not to eat meat for whatever reason. As long as you don't try to tell me what I should be doing, I couldn't care less. Eat or not eat whatever you want. Those are my thoughts on religion as well. You can worship whatever you want, just don't try to convince me to worship it too.

No really, WHY!? I want to know the real reason. You already know my stance on this subject so I think it's only fair. Come now, we're all mature folks here...well, most.

Damn, I like you. Course that is in a most respectful non-harrassing way.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with social acceptibility, and everything to do with quality (something you pretty much can't get for $5).

So because we are humans, and have the ability to advance the quality of our existence, our advancements are meaningless because that's what just humans do? I don't follow.

The same thing that gives us the ability to conceive of religions, etc. is what gives us the power of imagination and invention that we use to improve the quality of our life experience. It's called a mind, and every time we use that to improve our existence as animals, we have effectively evolved beyond what came before us.

What's wrong with killing other animals? Is there something in nature that prohibits that? Because the best I can tell, nature has fed itself on the blood of other animals since it first had teeth. Where do you see in nature a principle that demands we sacrifice our enjoyment of life so that some dumb ox can chew grass all day? If nature didn't want the cow to be eaten, she would have made it a shark.

Your insistence that evolution requires that we stop eating meat is a demand for change just for the sake of change. It benefits a human being nothing.

I say if it ain't broken don't fix it. But, I have two vegetarian sisters, and one previous vegetarian sister also so I've heard it all. I've also eaten alot of vegetarian food. It's really as edible as anything else.

I would probably try human meat if I thought it wouldn't make me go crazy with that person's being/power. but that's my own business. And hell yeah... I would also eat shark.

Evolution isn't the issue. We can eat meat easier now. There's also no law in nature against killing another man. But the general consensus is that it's wrong. Maybe people will agree to not eat meat when it becomes the general consensus. Do and eat whatever you want until you have no other choice.

Also, nature is a he.

Not killing another man is a matter of respect for your own life, expressed by honoring the sanctity of any other man's life. If one were to wantonly take the life of another man, it would be a judgement upon one's own life. You take a life, yours is forfeit; if human life may be taken without cause, then being a human, yours is equally vulnerable.

Animals do not bear us the same respect. So yes, it is wrong to kill humans. It's not wrong to kill animals.

Just to clarify, killing humans is wrong if you value your own life as a human. If you don't, then I have nothing to appeal to, and anything goes.

The other thing is that if it's in self-defense, killing another human is right. It's as right as their attempt to kill you is wrong. If it were right for you to let them kill you, what value could you claim your life had? None, because you'd be dead.

Incidentally, a killer behaves on the level of an animal, and as such, has the same rights as an animal: none.

Edit: screw it, not worth pissing Dave off over.

Eat meat everyone. It's what GOD and Nature and evolution want you to do. Eat your vegetables too. Enjoy the gifts and abilities you've been given.

HUMAN BEINGS >>>>>>> chickens or pigs or cows

NOFX - Vegetarian Mumbo Jumbo

I don't want tofu I'd rather have a mouthful of beef stew
I don't want to be a vegetarian
why eat beans when you can have steak insted?
I don't feel bad about eating something thats dead
why should I be sad for cows getting hit in the head?
So I like eating fish tell me whats wrong with this
how can you blame me for eating chicken of the sea?
Don't waste your breath yelling at me about animal rights and how they
should be free
its survival of the fittest and we're winning
I don't feel bad about eating something that's dead
why should I be sad for chickens being force fed

I'm not a vegetarian, but it's something I would like to explore in the future. I have to be careful with what I eat as it is because I have to watch my carb intake for my skin, so it could be a challenge for me should I pursue it. As it is now, I only really eat chicken on a regular basis, though, so it would be easier for me than it might be for others in that regard.

Why would I like to? For the inhuman and disgusting ways animals are treated before and when they're killed to become our food. It horrifies me and makes me feel guilty for eating meat.

Vegan. You mean you want to be a vegan. Vegetarians eat animal by-products. You hate watching an animal suffer, right!?
