Anyone felt 1/6 has hit a bottle neck in terms of realism?

Let's see . . . and away we go!

1. GI JOE, pretty much anything female figure, military, figures inspired by films, comic book related figures.

2. Primarily 1:6 with a few deviations into 1:12 and 1:18.

3.

4. Hard to cut out.

5. I'll be dead and buried with my 1:6 collection before I reach the age of 60.

Wow, this is so typical Chung.

...except his collection was sold on Ebay. :monkey1

But his expression of his opinion was classic Chung. We should be thankful for his proving to us we can't take it with us. It's nice to have certainty.

I think huge industry sea changes happen every 7-11 years. I remember when the McFarlane Movie Maniacs were the pinnacle of realism in toys; how times have changed. Another series of innovations peaked recently, so I am thinking we will probably see another long lull, unless some bolt of lighting company comes out of the blue with hyper-hyper-hyper realistic toys. I could see that maybe happening in other industries, but not this one

Got into 1/6 figure collecting in mid 2024 but knew of Hot Toys for a while. I always thought many of the figures' likenesses even as recent as 2022 look quite bad particularly Marvel and Star Wars. During 2024 I was getting more convinced to start a collection, then enter other brands like Inart raising the bar for realism. I'm lucky I started late to the 1/6 game amid the year of 2.0s avoiding the terrible figures brought out before. I can definitely see the difference between Hot Toys stuff present vs 2023 prior.
