Its the 16gb. $250 is the price everyone pays (with tax). I got a good deal because they gave me $200 for switching TV/Internet services. So my iPhone only cost $50.

I just hope that I like U-Verse

What is the tax where you are from? If you bought one in PA it would have been $211.99. That's crazy! Sounds to me like they are robbing Peter to Pay Paul.

Haha. Ya. Good Old California baby. Our tax is high and they tax you on the original $500 price of the phone. Even though nobody pays 500. Its dumb.

That is one helluva tax you got there in California! :google I think I didn't understand your initial post and thought you got the phone for $200 after signing up for U-Verse. Can't argue with $50 - good deal.

I almost want to switch to U-Verse so they will stop calling me and sending me mail and knocking on my door (twice so far) trying to get me to switch over. They are starting to wear me down.

I tried switching a while back. They said it was available. The installer guy showed up and spent 5 hours (yes, 5 hours) mucking around with various cables and jacks in my house until he gave up and said I couldn't get it. :monkey2

Yeah, I had to pay $63 worth of tax. There was a disclaimer on the bottom of the receipt:

Taxable Unit Value 699.00
2 YR Agreement SAVINGS $400.00

Pursuant to California Sales Tax Regulation 1585, tax on devices sold with service are calculated based on the no commit pricing.

Read on the Best Buy Forum today that they will no longer be taking pre-orders for the iPhone4 due to yesterdays oversell. I just called and anyone that pre-ordered yesterday will be guaranteed a phone! :woo

Sounds like yesterday was a bit of a cluster in one way or another for everyone. :lol

BTW, you got Christina one, right? That means video conferencing between iPhone 4's... Hrm.... :devil

:lol Yeah Christina has one.....Stay away from my wife! :lol

If I remember correctly there was an issue when the 3Gs came out leaving people phoneless for a couple of hours.
Luis

I don't remember the 3GS but I do remember that last OS update where everyone tried to do it at the same time and things failed horribly, people had their phone freeze and unable to unlock for a few hours. That'll happen again I'm sure.

AT&T apparently oversold, mostly due to paper and pen orders so they are now calling people telling them to expect their phones anytime from the 24th to the 15th of July! Apple is apparently deleting orders without notice on the Apple Store orders and extending orders out to the 15th as well. It was a cluster____ beyond belief and it was only on sale for one day.

I will not be shocked if this happens to me. :lol Knocks on wood it dont though.

I saw AT&T stopped taking pre-orders today as well.

Luckily my order was placed at 1:53PM EST. Well before they claimed to be sold out. I think they said they sold out around 3PM PST. So I have no worries here. :rock

Well, mine was ordered after 4pm PST. So at this point, I won't be expecting a new phone next week.

That is crazy. You think there would have been a more logical way of taking pre-orders than the paper/pencil way...

Every cingular store should have gotten a certain amount to sell and when they ran out the pre-orders would be up.

I hope you get you phone Tom!
