Anyone get there shipped? How long did it take AT&T to switch it over? I did the itunes part but my old phone still has service.

Registering and activating are two different things.

Here's what they told me to do:

Activating Your New iPhone:

1. Charge your iPhone. If you charge the battery while syncing or using iPhone, it may take longer to charge.

2. Launch iTunes.
-Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.itunes.com/download .
-Connect the iPhone to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the cable that came with iPhone.
-Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to register the iPhone and sync the iPhone with your contacts, calendars, and bookmarks on your computer, and with music, video, and other content from your iTunes library.

3. When activating the iPhone for the first time you will create a new Visual Voicemail box. You should complete all the steps for the existing voicemail messages prior to activation of your iPhone. Once your iPhone is activated, all previous messages and greetings will be lost.

4. You can activate online at att.com/activations or by calling 1-866-895-1099. Be ready to provide the number you want to activate and to accept your service terms and conditions.

5. Turn on your new iPhone after it is charged to make a test call by pressing and holding the power button for 3-5 seconds. If your test call is not successful, wait one hour to allow the activation process to complete then try to make another call.

6. For assistance at anytime during the process, call us from a different phone at 1-866-391-0749 or go online at att.com/DeviceSupport.

Also, don't forget to turn off your old phone if you are switching over. Apparently a few people have had problems with the new phone activaing while the old phone is still receiving a signal.

Still hoping to get mine today...

:lol Yahoo Business in its "Reasons to not buy an iPhone 4" is claiming that the 2011 iPhone will have an 8 Megapixel Sony Camera within it. Naturally some people are already going ape____. :lol

I activated mine at 9pm(PT) last night. My old phone lost service immediately and my iPhone DID NOT ACTIVATE. I went in to the store today and they checked the sim card/their records and said that my iPhone was in fact "active" but that it can take up to 24 hours to get a signal on the new phone.

So I do not have a phone to use today. If my phone does not have a signal by this evening I will be very annoyed.

:rotfl:rotfl

I would hope most people are understanding as it is the same thing with any gadgets.

You would think so especially since Apple has been cranking out the iPhones lately, I mean we went from iPhone 3G to 3GS in about a year one would assume that this would be no different.

iPhone 4S or 4GS will be out next year around this time and the year after will be my next upgrade the iPhone 5 which hopefully be on Verizon. :lol

Haha yea. I might have to hold out for the "4Gs" or whatever the next upgrade is. We will see, I am still torn.

Well, when my Iphone arrives here I've got to run up to the local AT&T store. :lol The one arriving here which is the 32gb isn't associated with my cell number. The 16gb which isn't mine is. So I've got to run up there and have them switch things out in the system.

Jeez these guys ____ed this one up good.

It took about 20 min then all of a sudden a message popped up that phone was activated.

I must say the new screen is bad azz

Keith I got ya beat now for stories. :lol

I got two emails as I've said in this thread. One phone was supposed to be delivered to my house and one to the AT&T store.

Well, here's where things get interesting. :lol The phone that came to the store is associated with my number. Well, its the wrong phone as that one is a 16gb. The one that came to the house is a 32gb which is supposed to be mine. While at the post office I ran into the UPS guy. He gave me a box and when I got into my car it was the 3rd Iphone that I never got an email for. :lol Its associated with my moms number. So tomorrow morning when the store opens I have to take all 6 phones so they can get things worked out.

damn :lol
