I really hope that isn't what we are gonna see on all of them.

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

Sculpt looks good as does the paint. Can't wait for Thursday.

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

Not great sculpt + Bad paint apps + wonky eyes = Bad job

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

Thanks for the pics Fremen! Actually, I think the face on the hooded version looks the most changed from the proto. I checked the pics of the nose (unhooded version) and it's large on the proto as well. I believe this is going to look great in person!

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

As tempting as it is to judge the sculpt and paint app's on pic's taken from an iPhone I think I'm going to reserve finally judgement until I see mine in person. :lol Looks terrific from what I can tell so far, though I imagine if I never ordered it in the 1st place [and was now regretting that decision] I'd probably be slagging the paint app's based on iPhone photos too.....:monkey3

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

If that wonkey eye isn't normal, I'll be sending it back.

If Marty Feldman had played Aragorn the wonky eye would be normal....he didn't and it isn't. :nono

I think any issues with the eye on those pics is from the angle of the pics.

You could be right Josh, though the eyes do appear to be 'off' somewhat in this photo....and I believe Fremen has expressed some concern as well.

Still, I agree with you 100% concerning the sculpt and overall paint app's [love the weathering].....and the opinions of some trolls who never ordered this and have been complaining about the likeness and/or price since day 1 isn't going to change that. :nono

The eyes are off a little.

Thanks Fremen! I take it you're talking about the hoodless sculpt only? And I'm curious, what is your opinion of the overall paint app's? :)

Right and he would know since he's looked at it over me of course. The reason I say it could be the angle of the face looking one direction and eyes looking out of the corners. It makes taking shots a bit hard not to give the impression of issues with the eyes. I've actually made a couple pieces appear to have issues when it was the fact I did it.

With ya on everything on the last part of your post. :duff

Edit: Just saw Fremens posts. Have to take his word for it but am looking forward to seeing more pics.

Same here, pic's should be flooding in over the next few days, and I'll get the chance to see this in person on Friday. :yess: And just so you know....Fremen is no man! :lol

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

Hmm. Tricky one. Traditional Sideshow Eye apart, the hoodless head sculpt does look odd.... and his chin is ma-hoosive :horror
Paint apps, i agree when i was looking.... also looks a bit shiny, but all of this could be down to the iphone pics. Looking forward to seeing more as people get them in. Or indeed when i get MINE in! :lol

At 1st I thought Fremen was using the 'chin app' on her iPhone [they have everything else don't they? :lol ], but I think if you look at the two photo's below you see more facial hair around the chin of the prototype, and less on Fremen's statue giving it the impression of having a larger chin.

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

This was taken under harsh work floresnts.

I didn't really have time to look at it at work. I just whipped it out, snapped some IPHONE pics and put it back in the box. I did this for you dweebs so I could listen to the _____ing about my poor quality iphone pics. Risk my job for you bunch of twits and nag, nag, nag about my pics. Boooo.

Overall, I like it. I think the paint looks good and the detail is amazing but I really do have to open it again at home and take a good look at it.

Re: Aragorn Maquette - Order NOW, link in 1st post.

Hooded sculpt looks considerably better.

Factory paint apps once again hurt an amazing Trev sculpt.
