I've noticed lately I've been doing more reading and less posting on the board. (Not that this bothers some ) Especially since SDCC for me anyways. I hit 25k at the first of August and am just now getting closer to 27k. Now, since then school has started and so has basketball but I guess I just don't find myself posting things or even getting in a hurry to take pics. Not sure if its burn our or what the case is.

I haven't lost the passion for collecting, SS, etc but I wonder if all the bickering on the board (including stuff I've started, kept going, etc.) has worn on me. It seems we can't just talk about things without someone being whatever. They can come in and say they're just kidding but I don't believe anyone is really going to believe that. Then you have those that just like to talk down because they feel its cool to act cool on a message board.

Anyways, I'm probably just venting but there have been a few times lately that I've seriously considered walking away from SSF. Not just taking a break but leaving if this doesn't change. I know I'm trying to just be me and let people have fun without me letting myself get in the way of their having fun.

Ok time to stop rambling and venting.

Yeah I would say for about 2-3 Months I didn't hardly even read anything outside a few threads. I think the problem is the SW section is getting worse and worse by the day. There are a few people that have driven me complety insane and just don't even want to read this crap anymore.

Yeah, I'm finding myself posting in other areas more (Dead threads and liking seeing the LOTR threads going strong).

I definitely post less in the SW threads for that exact reason. I love Star Wars, but I've grown to hate the Star Wars section.

I don't post a whole lot anyways. I usually only post when I have something to actually say. While my post count doesn't say I'm a long time member or active member of the board, I am. I've actually been around since the early days of the old Ezboard thread ( I first found out about the old site from the Sideshow newsletter!).

Nice thing about me is that even though I'm not a super poster, I am well known because my user name is so memorable

The board is like a subway train that is constantly in motion--some people who have been around forever start to trickle off while others are just arriving.

Like a living organism, it has its own life cycles and stages.

(And the Star Wars section is going through menopause.)

I must admit, the negativity in the star wars section has made me sort of sick to be a star wars fan. Im more into LOTR and Marvel nowdays. It just makes me ashamed to be labeled a star wars fan when so many of them act like babies.

don't let it get you down josh. you have been a long time contributor to this board and have never from what i've seen been degrading or abusive to anyone here.

people are people and maybe the attitudes of some are getting worse but i've noticed this happens to be going on all over the place. in the grocery stores, at the auto mechanic and even just driving down the road. just keep doing what you're doing and let all those dummies crap themselves out of existence.

Agreed. This is what I do when I suffer from online burnout. I just walk away for a few weeks, months, whatever and then come back fresh and recharged.

Also, real life has a way of slapping you in the face and reminding you that all of this is ultimately meaningless and trivial.

What you're feeling is completely normal though, Josh. No worries.

I've been posting less just because its slowed down in general.

There isn't an SDCC or a Spook going on. No big things like the Power Loader or a Jabba right now. We are all just waiting for an ugly Hulk bust, Imperial dude in the background, and some sub-par LOTR offerings.

I think the talking really gets going when SSC releases items that are cool for all. There have recently been some pieces that I can't help commenting on that are far from my collecting norm. I think things will pick up once we get some AMAZING pieces from SSC that are cool across the boards.
