Arghhh, New Hot Toys- Captain Jack sculpt revealed me hearties

There's people complaining in the Bruce Lee DX thread too and that figure looks perfect to me.

It's tiresome, but only if you disagree with the complainers I guess.

This one looks like a home run though. I can't find any issues with the likeness at least--maybe he's got an extra braid or some ring missing, I don't know and don't really care lol. It's almost photoreal, IMO.

Not sure if this has been brought up already but while both sculpts obviously look great, I think what really sets them apart is the PERS feature. Being able to move the eyes to the sides really helps capture Sparrow's personality. That little detail works wonders.

I used to have the first release of Jack and its a great figure... but the over tan complexion and height (being too tall next to Davy Jones) led me to sell him.

I imagine the DX will be an all around improvement and I'm stoked to add him to the collection.

I still think the Cannibal Jack is my favorite sculpt as far as capturing the essence of the character...

But both these new sculpts look amazing, and I'm happy that they're giving us two choices plus PERS. Endless possibilities.

Looks aces. I showed my girlfriend, who was tolerant, yet has grown to hate my collecting habits, and she wants it.

As a side note, she thinks I have to many and that they are everywhere. She is probably right.

I've held on to mine just in case this DX only covers the new film with the new outfit parts.

Considering I also have a Sov Sparrow from the first film, looks like I'll have one Sparrow to rep each of the four films.

Likeness is ok IMO, not at all great. Incredible paint, but only a decent likeness, particularly the smiling head. The other relaxed one looks ok.

No, I think you're right. Not sure why some folks are getting up in arms about a little criticism, but. . .yeah, this ain't as bad as Indy by any means, but the likeness could be better.

I do, but only the sculpt. The HT one will dominate EnterbayXMedicom's Jack in every other category.

agreed, more bang for you buck. likeness may or may not be spot on, but over all price and amount of accessories, I feel HT will definitely give us more than what EB will

I am a Hot Toys fanboy, but these two sculpts look only 80% Depp. Hate to say it but I think the UU sculpt of Depp is more spot on so far with that one pic.

Also, HT better captures the spirit of the character, which is important with Sparrow. The sinister look doesn't do much for me.
