It's kinda been said already, but I'll put it in my own words. I love the well conceived and portrayed character of the Terminator, as well as any list of favorite icons. I do not like it because I care anything for Arnold one way or another as an actor or human being. The real Arnold is meaningless and out of mind when I look at my Terminator figures. In fact, I think the whole Terminator franchise is being spoiled by Hollywood's need to keep putting Arnold into the sequels. I love that the Predator franchise went on without him right away. I'm not hating on Arnold. Turns out he's just another celebrity screw up. So what? It's not my life. I've got my own crap to worry about.

exactly, not once have i looked at my collection and seen the actors, i see always see the characters, because my attachment is with a certain character, not the actors
this is a common problem with a lot of people, they are unable to separate the character from the actor, and i think that's a bit childish
my ex won't watch any clive owen movies because he played a character that bothered her, so now she won't watch ANYTHING with him in it, i think that's just a bit dumb

i think tom cruise is a freaking idiot, but i still like and dislike the same films i liked/disliked before he went all sciento-psycho

- adam west was a total jerk to me at a convention, i don't know what his reasoning was but that's just how it went down, i still love his character on family guy and his sweaty armpit version of batman

- avery brooks had a total melt down on one of my friends last year at a convention in atlanta, my friend is one of the nicest people i've ever known and he went ballistic on her, but we all (including my friend) love DS9

- tom savini was a rude ******* at another convention and i have nothing but mad respect for the man's work

- linda blair is a total b--ch and every time i see the exorcist i laugh at her

as for the whole schwarzenegger scandal, who cares!, j.f. kennedy had an affair, that didn't change his leadership skills as a president
whatever happens between someone, their spouse and whomever else is their own damn business and people need to just mind their own business and stay out of other's personal lives and matters - people need to focus a little less on celebrities and focus a little more on themselves, who cares what they are doing in their day-to-day lives?
however, not everyone is able to do that, so one should do whatever is easier, if you can't separate the character from the actor then don't have a figure of their likeness in your house, more for someone who has a different point of view

I dont give a ____ what Arnie does nothing will ever make me get rid of my T1 T-800 or T2 T-800 there both way to badass and what Arnie did or does has nothing to do with the characters... If your worried about having him on your shelf because of what he did in real life... What does it say that you have figures of killer Terminators on your shelf in the mean time???

bingo!

:lectureHey man, everyone makes mistakes in life, no matter who they are. We are all guilty of something, hell, I've even killed someone for taking the piss out of my Terminator collection, but that's not the point here. We all like Arnie because of what characters he played from which ever movie - hence our statue's and collections.:yess:

i dont care if an actor is doing such things, but if it were a politician or someone who shows himself to doing things for the society then i wonder if hes in the politics for soceitys good or just plain material profit

When I heard the news, my figures were nearby and I just turned and opened up my Detolf and snapped my T1 T-800 in half at the chest and broke both of its legs off. I'll be honest, it's a decision I now regret - I've tried gluing the figure back together but it's just not working. I don't know what I was thinking at the time, what my real reasoning was, when I heard the news I just lost control of myself and I became a monster.

if this is true, that's just STUPID! that's like throwing a plate when you're angry, now you're still angry, the problem hasn't resolved itself, you have one less plate and an uneven set, AND you have to clean up the mess now

arnie still rules. And he has always been known for liking the ladies. I dont think its right what he has put his wife and kids through tho. But i still love his films. The thing im most gutted about is that he has put his come back to films on hold :(

Agreed Herzograven. Grosby should have snapped his T2 T-800 instead - at least he would have kept the superior figure :lecture

I have a solution for anyone who has a moral problem about his or her Arnold figures.

Send them to me and I will dispose of them properly for you. I will pay shipping.

Please know that I will be taking on plenty of emotional duress by offering this service and taking on this burden, but I really want to help out this community by accepting your Arnold figures.

Who is Arnold? I only know Dutch, T-800, and John Matrix. This Arnold sounds like a flawed human being who has been in some really kicka** action films.

Frankly, his personal life is none of our business. This is between him, his family and his former maid and their child. Given that, it shouldn't effect anything.

Agreed...I'm not going to judge him based on his personal sex life...and especially something debatable like the execution of Williams...taking another life maybe is never the "best choice" but feeling remorse and true regret and therefore becoming "redeemed" does not mean the previous crimes simply did not happen imo...

first l will give advice. Grosby you need anger managment. that was a stupid thing to do over a stupid reason.

anyway, l read today that Arnold was once in a gangbang with other body builders and a black chick at a gym. not what l would be into, but now l look at him and just say, "you dog you":lol

Though I don't personally care about his private life, I don't agree that it's "none of our business." When you're a politician, you voluntarily give up much of your privacy for the purpose of furthering your career. And for better or worse, you can't just get it back at a snap of the fingers once you leave office. Not to the same extent, but you give some of that up when you're a celebrity, as well. If you are gonna take advantage of the attention from cameras and tabloids when it suits you, it seems fair game when they work against you, as well. Guys like Arnold, Lindsay Lohan, and Brad Pitt probably want to have their cake and eat it, too (they want attention for their charities, acting and political careers, etc., but not when they're going out for a private dinner or whoring around town), but do they deserve it?

As to whether or not it affects collecting habits, that's the collector's decision.

If Mr. Freeze wasn't reason enough to boycott Arnie's likeness or piss on his legacy as an action star, then nothing is ;). But seriously, I think his pop culture status and sheer awesomeness as the Terminator, Dutch, Matrix, etc. transcends his immorality.

Unlike, say, Tookie Williams. :dunno

Okay, so as a politician, you still have no right. Not a penny of your tax dollars went to pay him for the office he held. Not a single penny from any Californian did either, so that's irrelevant. :lol

I think part of this, "They're a celeb so they don't deserve a private life" is one of the diseases that's contributing to the devolution of society. It's also ridiculous that people expect celebs to be above a-typical human behavior. People spend so much time henpicking celebs when their own lives could better use the attention and focus.

There's only one actor who I feel disappointed by and have a hard time separating his personal life from his professional life, and that's Jeffrey Jones. Not that that anyone would want figures of him, but he's been in some great movies and I can't help think of what he did that diminishes his work for me.

I feel the same way... an actor or celebrity would have to do something incredibly awful (like Jeffrey Jones) for me to struggle separating the actor from the role. Generally I figure most celebrities are kind of douchey and don't care about their personal lives.
