Re: Art Books

great pick ups bro!

I've that Great American pin up book in my collections for a few years now and it's great! so many awesome WWII pinups! Just handle it with care the spine tends to come undone with this particular book!
Thanks dude. This book is a reprint, so hopefully this one won't have those issues.

Art of Tim Burton Deluxe 2nd printing

For those who missed the deluxe edition the first time there is a second printing with a new signed print available.

Very happy I don't have to pay the 1K+ price on ebay the first edition has been going for these days. I prefer to get this print too.

Got a note from Amazon that the HC version of God of War got the axe at least from them.

Re: Art Books

Got my Art of Tim Burton Deluxe book today, nice and heavy. Very excited to finally own his autograph on two really great items. My highlight purchase of 2010.

Re: Art Books

As a totally, completely, unbiased observer :shh, who has had the good fortune to see what Daniel and the design team have come up with in this book, I can vouch that The Art of District 9 is jaw-droppingly good.

If you liked the movie or if you like to see how movies are designed (eg: Crafting of Narnia) then you will not be disappointed. Dan has poured his heart and soul into this book. My thanks to him.

Our objective was to take "Art of ..." books to a whole new level, and Dan and the team have delivered in spades.

Come check out the preview copy at the Weta (D9) booth at Comic Con !

Cheers

Tim

The D9 book should be amazing and after reading what Tim from Weta said its sounding epic.

Re: Art Books

We're always curious what goes on behind the scenes of a videogame, but when said game is being directed creatively by Joe Madureira, one of the greatest and most influential comic book artists of the '90s, our interest suddenly jumps a bit higher.

Udon Entertainment has announced that it plans to publish The Art of Darksiders, a 288-page, $39.99 collection of behind-the-scenes material. The artwork, designs, sketches and unused concepts, by Madureira and his team, will lay out the evolution and development of the January 2010 game.

Art of Darksiders will be available in two formats. A hardcover edition will make its way to the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Madureira will make a special appearance at the show to sign the books for fans. (Details on the signings are forthcoming.) The standard, softcover book will be available in October for $39.99. (No pricing is available for the limited edition hardcover.)

We're going to try and track down a copy of the book to give you a better idea of what to expect. In the meantime, check out the below images, provided by Udon.
