I was actually going to pick those up along with the comic. They've been on my list for a while now, it's just always been pushed to the back burner. Are the novels just novelized versions of the graphic novels? Was going to grab these, plus the three graphic novels (omnibus 1+2 and Third World War).

The first novel (Prey) sums up the comics. Hunter's Planet & War are the two novels that follow the comics.

These are what I bought WAAAAAY back when I was a teenager (still have them)

Is it bad sideshow has often pulled my interest in on characters I haven't been super familiar with? Red Sonja, Vampirella, now this chick. the figures are so sick i always end up wanting to know about these things that aren't in my Fandoms. I'm sure that some would blame it on the T.A. But i honestly enjoy everything that is going on with these statues other than their sexulization. Anyone else get pulled into character cause of sideshows work? ps 440 is excessive and the Ex is kinda lame on this.

Well, their strategy worked on me this time. I know next to nothing about this character, and she's preordered. Her T&A is actually pretty mild, all things considered. I didn't buy her for that, I bought her because she's a badass.

AND she's struggling with her humanity, I find that a fascinating concept.

This is my first PF and I don't know whether to cringe or to rejoice. :wink1:

p.s. Agreed on the lame ex. Ex should have been base with a partial sculpt of the Queen head, not the whole thing 'cause that would be too huge. But yeah, maybe the front half of the head and that would have ruled. Death by head bisection!

[low edition size] would be a nice bonus but it's such a shame the apparent lack of interest in this beautiful piece.

Future grail.

That's what this is: future grail.

shhhhh keep it on the down-low, we don't want that low edition size person to come back and start posting about how he's gonna buy six of these to flip on ebay in five years.

The Aliens versus Predator comic series started in the early 90s, 91-92 I believe, and then in 94-95 the series was novelized into Aliens versus Predator: Prey. I'm not sure when the sequel comic series came out and was novelized into AvP: War and AvP: Hunter's Planet though.

I personally prefer the books, as you get a much more in-depth and immersive story, not just pages of pictures with little bubble captions here and there. :monkey3

The comics are still awesome though.

thanks for the sources definitely have to give some of this stuff a run through, finding it hard to resist a preorder on this fig.

Thanks for the info guys! :)

I'll likely order the second and third book, as well as the graphic novels if I can find them for a solid price at the bookstore tomorrow!

In my limited research, I did find -- after reading reviews -- that if you read all three books, the best order is Book One, Book Three, Book Two...apparently many believe they should've been released that way in the first place.

Well said, I agree. Would have loved a full breastplate.

Do predators have ****s?

SEXY

No rush my friend...No rush :duff

Wait for local price which should be around £40-50 cheaper. If the Ex is still available in a few weeks time, which it should be i'll use a coupon to help with the postage.
Ex is no biggie but would be nice and a direct order gets to me months earlier.

Just giving you Flack my Friend :lol

I think the females do, at least narin thinks so

She's one ugly MoFo!

MOFO FUBAR :lol

^ Would bang.

Not Surprised, Get back with us and let us know how it was to climb on that my Friend :lol

That one was painted by Sideshow.

Check out her eyes. :lol

Good Eye :lol

It's all a conspiracy my Friend but I know where you are coming from Queen of the Dead caught me off guard, I didn't get pulled in by SSC with the sexulization of statues, I was already collecting that way, Sephiroth :lol:lol:lol

That reminds me... In the book, AvP: Prey, Dachande (the main predator character) tells of his first experience mating and how the female pred accidentally threw him across the room while they were getting it on because the females are so much larger than the males.

....another reason to read the book

LOL, I know the feeling all too well. In addition to those you have mentioned, my list also includes Lady Death, Witchblade, Queen of the Dead, B.A.R. Maid, and the list goes on and on. The thing is that although I love the sexualization of certain pieces, that isn't the only draw. I've also picked up Male statues that I've found to be impressive even if I wasn't familiar with the character.

Other times, I have skipped both male and female characters that I really like because I was not sold on the sculpt. As an example, I ordered Derby and Lucky from the Honey Trap line even though I know nothing about them but I skipped Jean Grey, T800, and some others even though I love the characters.

Some of the fun for me, besides coming to this forum and SF, is discovering great new characters to take us into brave new worlds that we never would have experienced. The bottom line, for me, is that the sculpt is what sells the piece (unless it is of as character that i know but do not particularly care for - such as certain villains, etc.)
