Doesn't look like this will be "coming soon" after all, sideshow just did the same promo for Hot Toys Expendables 2.

Guessin its just a promo to state they'll be distributing them once they do come, not an indication of upcoming pre-orders

Coming Soon is a generic term. Sideshow specifically said this would be orderable "pretty soon". For all we know pretty soon to SSC could be next month to next quarter.

Only indication was "keep an eye on our newsfeed for a date" that could mean soon or in a few months, this would be the fastest turnaround of an announcement to a figure ever, if it was coming pretty soon, i'm sure they'd have shown something of the body like a close-up of the chest or something

Did you ever consider that the Backstage might be the teaser, I'd argue that that may be one of the most substantial teasers yet, if so, as most consist of a basic body shot, and I have yet to see a license announcement other than that which came with a "Backstage" pic. I do think we'll see this sooner, rather than later, as, as much as you may hate it, it seems like Batman and The Avengers take precedence over everything for HT at the moment.

It's going to be tough deciding whether I'll get this or the new Dark Knight figure. This would make a great default comic version for my display.

If these were coming out this year then the initial Hot Toys announcement would have said coming 2012 like the Batman Returns announcement did.

We'll be waiting a while for these figures

They don't usually give a date. The fact there are sculpted pieces means this is further along than Batman Returns, and according to Sideshow, even closer than originally thought.

it's also entirely possible that a pre-order goes up without a product shot. they've done that with hot toys products in the past, though rarely.

I'm gonna pass on this whole line.

sculpted pvc like the predator figures would be the best way to go in my opinion. You get detail and articulation, what more can you ask for.

That would be a different route to go - no clothes at all. Just a sculpted body with the details. That might just work!

That's what I predict.

I agree this is the year for batman and the game was a late 2011 release; so they have a small window to work with if they want this figure to ride the hype train.

Or they can release it with the third game probably in late 2013

No matter WHAT they do with the body, no stress for me. I can rest comfortably, knowing that even if they go stupid and do a rubber suit, or a sculpted body, Sideshow IS working on comic book versions in 1/6th, wit proper cloth costumes.

All I've got to do is Wait and EVENTUALLY I'll get my Ideal poseable quality batman.

Yup. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Sideshow has in store for DC. Their figures will be considerably cheaper than Hot Toys, that's for sure.
