The paint job is fine. :dunno This is what she looked like at comic-con and if she comes out like this then that will be just fine.

Yeah, she looked fantastic at comic-con. She would be yet another solid addition to this line IMO.

Comic Con Arwen looks way better than those promo pics! But flesh tones and makeup are still surely lacking..Why is SS using those horrid promo pics on the website though? :dunno

To each his own I guess. Like, I said if she comes out looking like that this is another hit.

For me personally Trev made it look like Liv but I wouldn't freak out if it wasn't 110% there. Making sure the paint work is good is always a big deal as we've all said so the fact it looked good at comic-con along with the others looking good in production I feel fine about Arwen.

it's that hair coming out of her side that's really a deal breaker, i even accepted the fact the face is off. I wonder if you can break it off and retouch the area, seems like a clean strand of hair.

what are those guys thinking, who the hell has hair growing below their ears like that

So I was about to reply that most people do, they are called side burns. But then I looked one page back at the post by Leonidas and the side by side is really apparently weird looking. The left hair chunk flies off the head. Hmmm.

that's some pretty long sideburns...

Exactly...Arwen didn't have huge sideburns growing out of her cheekbones in the movie  Don't know what the designers were thinking here :dunno

Finally came to the very difficult decision to ultimately pass on this piece, and not even order on wait list when she makes it there. Just too much damning evidence in this thread, even the great photos from SDCC by Josh, which just aren't Liv enough for me. I'm going to earmark these funds for an Orhanc instead.

Sucks to pass on a maquette in this line which I though I would be a completionist in. I will definitely be watching for in hand photos, and hope she turns out better than the promo prototype images.

I'll stop now, kinda sucks, but at least I can get the Orthanc now... :(

I think that funky sideburn element is okay in terms of the length of hair, but I think the origin of the hair is a little dicey. Some of the shots of Liv Tyler show that her hair comes down off the top of her head and then some strands come straight down along the side of her face, while others are tied back in a braid. I think if the sculpt of the strand that falls below her ear showed that the origin of the length of hair came from above, and was "untucked" from the braid, there wouldn't be any confusion. It does look like she has a monster sideburn coming off the side of her face with the sculpted hair lines as is. Does this make sense? I think that the sculpt just missed a little element here. I think the portrait is really nice, but the paint job could use some additional tweaks to really drive home the likeness. I'll still be eager to see this in hand.

Arwen is shipping in March now it seems. So we've got Gimli this month, Arwen in March, and Boromir in April.
