Asmus Toys: Boromir

Had no intention of picking this up but to me, the biggest issue is the hairline. Reminds me of Theoden.

That grey prototype looks like the production piece and it still doesn't look like Sean Bean.

To be honest - I've picked him up.
Not a strong likeness to Sean Bean, but I didn't have the original release and I need a Boromir for the collection. I seriously doubt Inart will do him ever, and if they do then it will be a LONG way down the line.
Costume and the rest of the figure looks great and from what I recall people said they liked those elements of the old figure so hopefully none of that will have changed for the worse.
In my opinion, if you have the original then you may as well save your money on this release. If you don't and really want Boromir for your collection then this is about on the same level as the original release.

If I didn’t have him I would definitely pick it up. I may pick up the sculpt. I do think it is better than the first. Just not sure yet

I don’t have the first release either so I will hopefully be picking this one up. He is a character I need for my collection.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with the outfit. They did some great work on that part in the v 1.0. (Though some folks had issues with the belt, I believe.) Probably my favorite costume design in the trilogy and they did a really nice job with it.

The hair sculpt of that proto is definitely different. The new hair sculpt, while closer in overall shape and style to the movie, just isn't working for me.

Yeah, not the home run we were expecting given the last few awesome releases. I'll be picking this up though since I need a Boromir. Besides, they usually look better in hand anyway.

I decided to order him too. I am let down a bit by the headsculpt but I am happy with everything else and it is an upgrade from my Sideshow Boromir.

It’s not too late to get this sculpt out @Asmus

I doubt it. They have a warehouse of painted heads to get rid of now. The new business model, remember. Even though I already have v1, it’s so much easier to pass now when I know there is another game in town. If Asmus can’t get it right, InArt may nail it.

Hey they did the spear for Grish so I think arrows were a definite possibility. Maybe we be day if we ever get our Lurtz, he will come with arrows that can be used with Boromir.

v1 has a slighty better likeness and was offered in sculpted and rooted options so you could choose which version you prefer to buy... this v2 seems a 0.5 in comparison... less options, less accessories, worse likeness. I think that's the worst Asmus lotr in years...

I might have missed something, but... why fewer accessories? What was in the v1 version that is not in v2?
