It's a cracking figure though. Looks grand next to the Witch King too. I'd recommend grabbing one if you're unsure - it's good out of the box, and with a bit of tinkering it could be amazing

Maybe I'll hold off on this if it needs all this repainting, however easy, I'm not one to paint my figures. I need to see some unaltered out of the box in-hand pics. Wonder when bbts will have theirs?

I didn't end up replacing the body on WK because Asmus said they were supplying a new body with Gothmog. Now I need to get two bodies.

Is this now not the case - no supplied replacement body for WK?

I think they ran into problems with finding a workable replacement body. I wouldn't be shocked if they find a way to tuck in a replacement body with another figure since Gothmog comes with the bloody torso, Gandalf comes with an orce head and Skully comes with a Mordor banner. I also wouldn't be surprised if they "forget" about it either. Giving away a free body for every WK made probably puts a nice dent into the profits.

Thanks for the pics. I'm even more undecided now. The sculpt is wickedly detailed and great, but that flannel just bugs the crap out of me. And that hair coming out of his head, lol, so gross. Great, but really gross. I have a strong stomach, but one of it's weaknesses is gross hair splayed out from skin like that in patches. The armor doesn't really bug me. I may have to pass, particularly since I think this will be available for a while.

The undersuit is a darker burgundy in person, it just appears lighter in the photos.

Gotcha. It's more how much of it shows through. The initial promo photos were a bit deceiving on the lower half of the armor. The armor skirt seemed to cover the crotch and thighs completely and the shin guards and stuff made up more of the gap coming up to the skirt armor.

Remeber I just took it out of the box and didn't do any futzing. The thigh plates actually cover far more of the legs than it appears in my photos; they were just twisted around to the back. If you move the crotch plate down a bit and bring the thigh plates around to where they should be, you actually cover up most of the undersuit on the legs

That's good to know. I have been excited for this for a while. I don't want to cancel, I'm just being really selective with my purchases right now. I'll marinate on it and hopefully will see some more photos as more people get this in.
