I don't understand the scale of those Hobbits. If the foreground Nazghul are 1/6th and then the background figures that are BEHIND the Hobbits are also 1/6th, they almost come off 1/4 scale. Definitely need more pictures to see what is going on there.

Really? They are at different points in the room. The hobbits are behind a sixth scale figure. That shows the scale there. Looks good to me.

No Gollum yet....

Everything looks really good though.

Does Gandalf really come with that cart or is just for show?

Not that figure... the whole case of figures off to the left look a lot smaller and then so does the Nazghul. I have seen the other thread so must be the lens that is making the ringwraiths in the foreground seem smaller than the hobbits in the midground.

I'm going go out on a limb and say that both Merry and Pippen as well as Thranduil are just pattern prototypes. These aren't close to final and are just templates which will serve as the basis for future materials. Asmus has been very good about accuracy in their products, so to see three figures that are blatantly incorrect leads me to believe they are just placeholder fabric test cuts. They just picked the colors seen as they are the basic variety of the detailed, real outfits.

Did Asmus stop taking order on their web site or is everything already sold out? Saruman, Bard, Aragorn... everything is out of stock.

Asmus Toys offers free shipping with their pre-orders when the initial formal announcements are made. Because they offer free shipping, they have a small window of time when you can pre-order from them directly. They seem to set aside a relatively small quantity for buyers to take advantage of the free shipping. When their latest figure set, The Mouth of Sauron was announced, they made a point of saying there would only be a small number available to pre-order due to the size of the set and the shipping cost. Most of their figures are available for order/pre-order through various retailers, just not Asmus.

I'm really hoping they release Arwen (and her horse) along with Sauron. I've been reading that they plan to release all the characters eventually, so I guess it's more of a question of "when" ?

why are tauriels eyes so dark around the edges? combine that with the light eyes and she looks possessed! really sickly and weird looking.

They must've put eyeliner on her for some reason...

Why does everyone do that? :gah:

Drives me crazy! They did it with Eowyn, too, but not this bad.

Just because the characters are women doesn't mean they're wearing make-up! :gah:

It's particularly frustrating because the original proto of Tauriel looked fine and didn't have the "smoky eye" look.

Wasn't Jack Sparrow the DX release right before Indy? Maybe Indy got painted before the factory realized not all 1/6 figures get eye liner. . .

I do agree that the eye liner here is too heavy and the prototype looked good in my opinion.

it's not eye liner though, it's black sleep depraved eye sockets lol. it's just weird looking.

My new LOTR Asmus shelf!
